How Easy is it to Juggle Alts?

How easy do you all find it to juggle multiple characters? Do you think this will be viable in Ashes? Considering how professions are going work, I'm expecting to have multiple characters so that I can experience the content. I'm usually the type of person to only have one character.

I think I read on the wiki that freeholds will allow us to transfer items between characters? Does anyone know if there will be other ways to do so? This would make it easier to have multiple characters.

I'm curious myself, but they say leveling is a lengthy process and the focus out the gate is the journey and pvp. It will evolve more as time passes on but if the focus is journey and pvp then it probably wont be alt friendly.

I find alts to be a sign of an mmo being easy and not competitive. I dont think that in AoC people will have many max lv fully geared characters

Yep.

Depends on how much time the player has, how much they enjoy the game ... and their willpower to grind levels.

Don't really need to bring every alt to max level adventurer.
Different alts serve different purposes.

"Juggling" alts has always been easy.

I'm the type that will have alts in every game I play and juggling them isn't hard.

I think it'll be pretty easy to juggle alts.

I've already got a plan in place for shifting cargo using alts so I draw less attention on my main and have a more specialised character deal with the possible ambushes

I will probably stick to the usual rule of not having any alts, then stumble across a good reason to have alts and then end up with maximum amount of alts lol.

I dont know but the crafting aspect does cater to them and the housing/family system also - i can imagine it wont be too hard.

Not only will I have probably many alts, chances are they won't even all be on the same servers. I usually keep them all on the same one, but considering how each server will evolve differently in AoC, I'll want to explore a few of them.

Traditionally, alts give the opportunities to try different starting locations (and so quests lines), races and, obviously, classes and their mechanics. Exploring these perspectives first hand give better insights on their strengths and limitations, which help in group dynamics as well as when facing these classes in pvp. So it's fun!

And then there are alts that serve as bankmules, crafters, auction house sellers, ... These are more about exploiting having access to many character to overcome the imposed limits in inventory, profession and locations of a single one. The more limitations there are on a character, the higher the chances this type of alts will exist. Not having fast travelling between locations will make it very tempting to park a low level character in a node to check on your businesses when your main is far away adventuring, gathering or whatever. Should I head back to town or stay? Let's first log in with Banky McBankface to see if it's worth it.

Will probably be at the same level as WoW Classic alting.

Leveling will be fun, fulfilling, but will take longer.

Economy tho will be key in this game (craftsmen, not raiders, will make the best gear) so alts made for the purpose of economy do sound very viable.

All in all, I haven't heard anything to make people who want to have many alts be upset.

No one will make the best gear without raiders. If you have no raiders who will get the required materials for crafters?

It helps if they are all relatively the same size and round. That way you don't miss and drop them.

I usually have a heap of alts as well as 2 mains, not because of easy content or bad design, because I like playing different classes and understanding them as well. My 2 mains are Battlemage and Dreadnought, I have another 5 alts planned hehe

I usually have a bunch of alts because I like different aesthetics and classes, I typically don't stress about max level rush though and just have fun doing what I feel like doing that day, I don't think it will be hard to have a bunch of alts in AoC, but like someone else said I doubt people will have a bunch of well geared max level alts either.

I have two characters planned, a tank and a summoner... But on the surface ashes doesn't look like it will be alt friendly.
The only thing I can see that might help with leveling and gearing alts would be that gear isn't bound so you can hand me down easier.

I'm not too concerned with maintaining alts, but I am a little concerned with zeroing in on what I'll want to play as my main. I like playing support roles (including tanks), so tank, cleric, and bard are my main focus going into AoC. Hopefully the class reveals will be thorough enough to let me make that decision ahead of time. I'll likely end up playing them all in the end at some point, but I'd like to be right the first time around.

As with every MMO, I will have a rogue alt for when I just want to be sneaky and murderous, but that's an after-afterthought.

You could run a summoner. Summoners are a jack of all trades support class.
