I don't mean to speak for Dygz, but the ocean is a significant portion of the map and is the only way to access the other continent and all the islands. How is a person that wants to explore the world going to avoid it?

Map exploration is one-time activity. When you are done with it, what are you doing next? If you cannot do something, do you just give up and rage quit? Do you understand what MMO stands for? What is your general interactions with other players? How do you influense the world through these interaction? I've never played on PvE servers. And I do not know why people are playing on them if they can just play single player or co-op game with richer story or mechanics. So it is hard for me to get your mindset. p.s. ty for sharing the bartle score! It's new test for me. And I am AKES somehow

If I was hoping to change the game design, I would just outright state that Steven should change the game design. I don't want Steven to change the game design - I just wish his communication about his PvP goals and his target audience was clearer - earlier. Like, when I asked him to compare the PvP goals with EvE Online and ArcheAge. "It's not like those games... Oops! Changed my mind!" I'm still going to test the Alphas and Betas. I still hope the game launches and is successful. I still support my game dev friends who are working on the game. I still have fun having discussions with people in these forums. I still support all the Ashes fans by inviting Steven to join us on The Ashen Forge so we can get some more info, and some new dev quotes into the Ashes Wiki. But, also... For, like, 3+ months, I was too preoccupied with the 15+ dance classes I had per week in addition to 60+ hours of work - to be active on the Forums. I got Steven to agree to the podcast and came to the Forums to try to grab some questions for him - first thing I see is, like, 5 posts asking why Steven is still doing interviews with me and when am I gonna stop supporting the game if I'm not going to play after launch. And... then people asked me why the Open Seas is a dealbreaker for me. And I've been responding to those questions ever since. Again - notice that I have not started any topics. Also, I have never asked for the game design to be changed to suit my playstyle.

New populations of mobs and NPCs appear and disappear accordingly. But, also... I was expecting to pursue a variety of progression paths - Archetype/Adventurer; Social Org; Religion; Racial. I'm no longer interested in pursuing any of the progression paths after launch.
