It's a Sandbox MMO for sure and a different TA than AoC, but there's still going to be some overlap between the two games as far as the audience goes. I for one am part of that overlap and seeing the community-building aspect of Pax Dei versus the community-building of AoC---eh, it seems more my speed hence why I made the meme. Freeholds were a big selling point for me (literally, I've bought a few freehold skins), but after seeing how freeholds are going to work in Verra---my goals for how I'll enjoy the game have shifted. I'm not saying that the freehold system is wrong, I'm simply saying it's not for me and Pax Dei's system seems to align with my play style. The meme stands.

Having considered the amount of effort into building ships, equipping them and dealing with the hard mobs out in the ocean, I came to the conclusions that the open seas won't be just a place for people to vent out with some mindless pvp. So I no longer had any issues with the seas being pvp zones, stealing people away from the ow setting and the real pvp. Since the seas will have good rewards, and the preparation for venturing out will require group effort, there is a barrier entry to people just wanting mindless pvp. These people won't make it there. The Seas of AoC will be nothing like the mess of Cyrodiil of ESO. I have change my mind due to all that. And I think I wrote something like this back then at the official thread.
