Greetings Ashes of Creation community!

It's been a good little while, but this is Riji with another update on House Calderon!

The guild has been going through a series of reformations lately, as many of our player base play new and exciting games as we wait for Ashes of Creation. Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, and ArcheAge Classic are just a few games that many are playing.

We have a series of announcements to make, so let's get right to it!

End of the Koveran Republic
We regret to report, the guild alliance that we had helped pioneer; The Koveran Republic, has been disbanded. This is a regrettable occurrence and one as a founder guild, we take to heart. Finding fellow guilds who align with our ideals and beliefs can be tricky, and we have learned that it will take more to maintain such. We remain steadfast friends with our former alliance guilds, and wish them all well as we plan for the future.

That being said, as we have recently announced to our Guild Ambassadors on our discord server. During this Pre-Alpha stage of Ashes of Creation's development. House Calderon will now be seeking to help create, or join any Guild Alliances for both game or RP purposes. We have decided as a guild, to leave that business for game, and for proper negotiations to be had. Although we are open to still be in contact with the various guilds; both RP and non RP who still maintain contact with us.

Ithil Family disbanded
Another hit to the Roleplay of House Calderon, is the official disbanding of a family. The Ithil family has ceased to be a thing in our story, pending membership and further development of Ashes of Creation. Primarily, many members who belonged to this family, simply wish to wait for the game to get closer to release. We here at House Calderon understand that the Pre-Alpha 2 wait is long, and encourage our members to be hands off if they so choose.

New Commitment - Nodes
The House Calderon leadership had a Town Hall back on Aug 27th. We discussed with our various guilds and even guests our intentions as a guild. One of those discussions, was our deep commitment to being more than just a RP guild, but a guild that aims to organize and build itself up for Ashes of Creation. Watching the new debut of Nodes in the August Dev update, we are more committed then ever to bring a home node to life. Defending it, and being apart of the community surrounding that node.

As a guild, we wish to uphold the RP traditions many of us hold dear, but as the same time; be realistic to the hard work that will come with a game like Ashes of Creation. That is why we not only expect, but demand our military and fighting players to not simply RP, but to PVP as well.

If you are seeking a guild that will not only breath life into a node, but deeply contribute to its defense, upgrading it, but also pouring time and resources into its development. House Calderon will answer that call.

We walk a long and difficult path, but we accept the challenge, gladly, ready to fight for what we believe. We are House Calderon.

Greetings Ashes of Creation community!

It has been a long month since our last update. So much has happened, and we in House Calderon have gone through a round of changes.

Alpha 2 in 2024!

House Calderon is excited at the announcement that Alpha 2 is coming in 2024! The guild was founded after Alpha 1 had started, with a handful of Alpha 1 vets, so the chance for many to finally get our hands on the game this coming year has brought excitement!

House Calderon is looking for Alpha 2 accessible players to join us as we learn the ways of Ashes of Creation. Take part in testing and working on guild activities, and fine tuning systems we are developing for game. Now is the best time to join, as we gear up to grow come 2024!

Changes in Leadership (Calderon Family)

House Calderon leadership has changed, detaching the notion that a Calderon = Leadership. The Calderon Family RP is still crucial and the core theme of the guild, due to it being the namesake of the guild itself. However, being a Calderon no longer ties one to automatic leadership. This will allow our family to grow and find others and general members who wish to become Calderons themselves in the future, or the development of branch families.

From now on, leadership in House Calderon will be split into 3 categories.

The Council - Who's duty it is to lead the entire guild. A shared space with the guild leader to affect the story and gaming direction of the guild. The Council is made up of the direct Branch and Section leads of the guild, headed by the Guild Leader.
The Court - The House Court; or "Assembly" is a group of officers filling appointments. These appointments are not direct leads of core guild structures, but lead necessary parts of the guild. Things like Recruitment, Foreign Affairs (Guild to Guild relations) and more, will have Court appointments. These individuals will advise the Council and head up their own groups we call "Ministries" that will help govern the guild.
Junior Officers - A Junior Officer is a direct leader. These are individuals we deem worthy of authority over other players. Each Branch has their own way of electing Junior Officers, and each Junior Officer may have different responsibilities. What they share in common, is the understanding that they are volunteering to be leaders of other players.

With that, we would like to announce we have entirely new leaders! The Magisterium branch and Serfdom branch have new leads on the Council. We welcome Ezriah and Mars to leadership!

Refocus to Internal Roleplay and Story development

House Calderon has been a guild committed to three things. Storytelling, Character Development, and Community. We have focused deeply for the last year on Community, and with that, we have neglected our first two priorities. Thus, with the rest of the year into 2024; we are refocusing purely on Story and Character Development.

The guild lore is being rewritten to focus more on the personal connections of our current playerbase. We are developing new RP scenerios, and even tabletop sessions using Roll20 to RP in Sanctus. Our Discord RP is being rebranded for a closer experience. We fully want to invest in the RP of our members, and preparing our characters for game.

Rebranding our RP-PVP Force

RP is not our only pillar, as we now see Ashes of Creation on the horizon. We are guild that will never shy away from PVP. We understand how Ashes is being made, with the treat of open world PVP a constant challenge. This is why we are seeking like-minded players who want to rally behind the House Calderon banner. All RPiers in our armed forces, must PVP. There will be no dice rolling in game. You fight, or you die.

With this in mind, the guild has shifted and rebranded the original Army branch into the Military branch. Our main force in the Men at Arms remains the same, along with the Knights and Vanguard. However, Arcane classes may now freely join. There is no hard split between martial and arcane forces. If you want to serve the realm. You join the Military. New positions for all classes and archetypes will be made available as we intend to grow the Men at Arms into a proper fighting force.

However, we cannot be a ground force alone. Now; House Calderon for the first time in our year as a guild will begin recruiting for our b]Navy[/b]. The Navy of House Calderon will be dedicated to researching, crafting, manning, and deploying Ships, along with the training and usage of Aquatic mounts. The nature of Ashes of Creation means the open oceans are auto flag PVP, thus all Navy sailors fall under the Military branch.

With new rebranding of our branches, new systems in play, and shift to focus on our RP development. Now is the best time to join House Calderon. A House that must stand on its own, ready to move into the world of Verra. We need leaders, members, friends, and family who are ready to join us in this undertaking.

Greetings and salutations wider Ashes of Creation community!

First off, I and the rest of House Calderon want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! 2024 will be the year of Ashes, as we now know Alpha 2 is coming Q3 2024!!!

While this new is big for us, we have even bigger news.

It is with a heavy heart and after a 18 months as a guild; House Calderon will be shutting down. We have discussed this in length between myself and my fellow Calderons, and after repeated attempts to try to change things up. We decided that as a guild leadership, we could not provide what we knew our members needed for a full fledged MMO experience that Ashes of Creation will bring. The Calderon Family, the core of this guild, is a group that has played together for over a decade, and we are just not able to provide the type of community our members deserve to have.

However, with the end of House Calderon as a guild comes a wind of change. A chance for something different for us. A chance to put our ideas, our story, and our commitment to another community that has welcomed us with open arms. House Calderon as of today, has merged into The Gilded House!

House Calderon will join the Gilded House RP community as a vassal house alongside House Thorne, House Greythorne, House Kurita, and of course; House Kimura. The Gilded House has been a long time associate, a competitive rival, and fellow story creator who has been full of friends and old comrades from games past. We did not take this choice lightly, but we are happy to join Gilded House and begin a new chapter as a united front.

All House Calderon dealings and RP will now fall under Gilded House from here on, and this thread is effectively closed. We will be shutting down our discord and other properties on and after New Years Day, and will be slowly transitioning ourselves as members.

Thank you to all who have supported House Calderon for the last year and 6 months. Ashes of Creation will be an amazing game, and we want to enjoy it to fullest without worry, and we know Gilded House will be a home we can tell the stories we want to tell, push content, and help our friends and family achieve the dreams they have set out for the game.
