Studios are always hiring when they are in full production and have roles up. It doesn't mean things rent done, it leaves the door to get good talent.

Point of the discussion is what was said about not years away. Though if you think they have not developed much on the game than that is fair.

Personally ill take "not years away" as if they are following the schedule and have realistic expectations, and not just a random number thrown without knowing their timeline for what they need to do within margin of error. The longer the period of time of guess the less accurate it will be.

I would have acceped your point of view a few months ago.
But the "not years away" was reinforced by "Soon (TM)" and by saying that all core parts of the game are done.

But my expectation is to get a very limited Alpha 2 which will grow over more than 2 years. Maybe beta 1 could start in 2 years but I feel that Alpha 2 player feedback will cause delays.
And I see no reason to not start Alpha 2 with only 25% map size and fewer classes and with only side quests to avoid main story spoilers.
What I don't know is how expensive running a server is and if they can cover the costs with the monthly cosmetic sales.

All signs lead to early next year as there internal target.

- They had planned internal PI testing at the end of this year (this was planned months ago and u dont plan that far ahead unless it important like the release of A2, if it was combat testing or event testing or what not it would of been tested when feature was done not planned at x time)
- The last cosmetic pack going to the 17th if January this is such a random date in the scheme of thing if it was just a random date it would be at the end of month or a week not Wednesday in the middle of the month 4 months away, this would indicate that there internal release date is around that time which wednsday is prime day for that aswell since it allow 2 days to pre before hand and 3 days to square issues away so devs can enjoy the weekend. The other possibility is that they announce the date on december livestream and this would allow 2 weeks for people still on the fence waiting for a date to buy into it, Steven also wont release a date until he know he can garantee will hit it since A1 debacle so if he does give a date on december livestream it wont be to far away and will likely be already to release at the time so he can garanteed it be ready 2-3 weeks later

so yeah highly likly the internal planned A2 release will be 17th of jan and will be pushed back if there hiccups leading up to that date if required.

To be real honest i just want them to have the best LAUNCH possible of an MMO that has ever happened.

* No Glitches
* No economy/gamebreaking bugs
* No end game purpose or boring

That being said, personally i dont really care when the official release will be announced , i just want this MMO to succeed like nothing else. Sending love to the devs.

It's hard to say, I imagine if they are intending to move systems to 5.3 (I am not sure if they have said if they will or not yet) they may require a little more time, similar to when they move to 5. I will say, the events and the mayorship being fleshed out in this manner has made it appear they are further along than I had hoped, especially with how in-depth they seem to work together.

Before their vacation is better, so by the time they come back, to have a full list of reports to work on.

I too think, that Alpha Two should come before some great Pause/Break around Summer.

They could then finish and save all the important Data they gathered from the Alpha Two Test, then take a long Break after Days if not Weeks of testing, Concentration - probably fighting Burnout (lol) and Exhaustion,

and when they have rested and recovered well from hopefully generous Holidays, they could then continue working well on all the Information and Data obtained from Alpha Two.

If it is sooner, it is Q2. Which would be consistent with the initial announcement that it is not years away, made Q2 this year.
If it is Q3, it is because delays. But what delays could they have if they already show us the game working?
