🎮 We've all been there, deep into an intense session, when suddenly, the need to access our inventory or backpack pops up.

Which key do you reach for? Is it 'I' for inventory or 'B' for backpack?

Do you stick with the default key bindings, or do you customize them?

I like tab for equipment, I for inventory.

Iv always liked B for opening inventory.

I never re keybind system settings like inventory,maps, or journals.

Tab doesn't make sense, because tab targeting for mobs is important for combat. Also having a CTRL+Tab for targeting NPC's is also important for when population crowding happens around specific NPCs or Node, like a job board.

i use tabe .but if i dint need to open my inventory often on the move b is good fx drop stuf, give stuf, change equipment.

Always i for Inventory, yeah. I'd be re-binding it to i if you made it anything else, anyway.

'I' for 'Backpack' which I will customize if needed.

i dont understend question ) no ofc i understend, but every one can change it in settings. i always change it in wow on pgdn button. but if cant be change and i should exist "c" "b" "i" i think "i" is best, if interface will be good and i dont need to open it in buttle.

It's not a big deal either way as long as we can rebind it. I would choose B instead if I needed to open inventory in battle, but not sure if that will be necessary in Ashes.

I usually like having "B" but it's not a huge deal. It is nice, however, having "B" as a hotkey and adjusting to "I" when games have that instead take no time at all.

Given how many abilities Ashes will have, I imagine hotkeys will be at a premium so "I" might actually be the best choice here. (So I guess I picked the wrong survey answer)

I rekey my keybindings to get the most out of my mmo mouse and ergo-keyboard.

Well that depends. If I am able to click C for character that shows the inventory I am wearing.... then I would do b for bag for other items.
If I do not have the option.... C for character to see those items.... I would prefer I for inventory that shows items worn as well as items I am holding.

Ideally though, I would love if one could just hotkey whatever key they wanted... I may prefer I, tom may want C, and ben wants B.

This is like the question- Should awsd be the way you do directions and move... some may like awsd and some hate it. Why not offer the option for people to choose what they want and is ideal for them?

Depends on the game; Some have a good enough layout to begin with - but others I've certainly customized to better fit my preferences and game-reflexes.

B because I can reach it with my thumb while walking, but I can't click I without putting at least one hand in a weird position or straight up lifting my fingers from WASD. So B is definitely better, but in the end, it doesn't really matter too much; I is fine as well.

As for keybinding, I usually try out what the devs give me first, as I assume they put thought into where they put each button and maybe it makes sense to me when I know the game for a little bit. But when I'm familiar with the game, I start to adapt some buttons or put stuff on my mouse like escapes or CC breaks.

I think tab should be the default in any game, but for an MMORPG, "B" is also a default I believe. I think it's fine either way, however on a personal level I despise "I" being the inventory/bag button lol

Doesn't really matter to me as I use a razer tartarus game pad and roccat tyon mouse so all of my buttons are customized. I prefer "I" though assuming that "P","O","L","K" will also be used for character, legion/guild, skills, etc. Easier to keep them all together.

And can you imagine using [Tab] for your Inventory? Having to look in your inventory every time you tabbed to the next target.... ohh man, that would get old real fast.
