Predictions for June Livestream and Alpha 2 Timing

Hey everyone,

With Alpha 2 scheduled for Q3 2024 (announced back in December 2023), what are your predictions for this month’s livestream? Do you think Intrepid will finally reveal a specific month or exact date?

Given the upcoming new MMO releases in Q3, do you think there's a chance Alpha 2 might be delayed to Q4? Would such a delay matter to you, considering how long we’ve already waited? Remember, it will be in a true Alpha state regardless.

Looking forward to your thoughts and discussions! And can't wait to get my hands on the Alpha 2

I've expected a delay since Steven has incepted us with the idea in the last stream. I expect A2 to come out in late September, but if they delay, it won't really matter to me.

A delay is possible for sure, but, in the end, it's A2, not release, so anything they can't get ready for A2 that isn't critical can be added later.

A small delay of a couple of months is ok, but I would be very worried if they delay for another year, for example. I very much doubt that will happen.

I think Steven is dropping the next update is the most boring update in the history of Ashes. I think he is going to shadow drop A2 date. Maybe right. Maybe 2 to 3 months off. Just my two cents. That over an a Alpha 2 update for the month of Aug. Where it leaves everyone expecting a release date on that update.

I am expecting an A2 date for sure, they dont need feedback for tech stuff, its the perfect opportunity for an A2 date reveal

I think in the June stream they will announce that the A2 release date is September 30. Still technically in Q3 and avoids WoW expansion and Throne and Liberty release dates as much as possible

War within is confirmed release date August 26 this year, how is it avoiding it in September?

When the End of 2023 was at Hand -> it was announced " WHEN " in 2024 the Alpha Two would come out. In Quarters, i mean. Before that, we only knew it would be in 2024.

So now,
it would be lovely if the same could be repeated for the Quarter. Now that the End of "Quarter Two" is at Hand,

wouldn't it be nice if we could get either the exact Date - or at least the exact Month ? Like for Example if it is in August or in September ?

People in the last Months felt already so shitty deep inside (lol ?^.^) that they feared the "Alpha Two" will be pushed back. These People are enveloped into as much Fear-Energy than Narc, or even worse.

(Plus they have like Zero Trust in Sir Steven and his mighty Crew ^.^)

but i think the only time i can remember how much " i " suffered like a complete Fullvictim from Withdrawl for good Content, was between the End of Wrath of the Lichking in WoW - and the Release of Cataclysm.
Feeling punished for loving to play good Content ... ... ... damn.

the only Reason/Guild in which " SOME " People still play, which i really like and who also bring me back to WoW once every Two Months between like a 10th or 15th or every Month,

is the "Garde Mekkadrill" on the german Server DieAldor. Very positive People.
Plus the Trading Post is " nice Pastime " every now and here.

What i would feel when Alpha Two would get pushed back ? Well, the same crap and excrement i feel so much regarding MMO's which i felt in the last handful of Years or so.

Disappointment.

But You can bet it would be different than Disappointment like when it's another, new Shitshow in Worst of Warcraft. Because i just know, that Ashes of Creation and Intrepid are just not there yet. Maybe my Impression is completely wrong, but i think they are struggling hard to just get up onto their Feet alone.

Once they " are " steady and firm on their Feet -> regarding they finally "have" the MMO ready for Income from the Customers, this is where the true Era of "Ashes-Intrepid" will begin.

Right now i just refuse to doubt Intrepid and Ashes the same Way i would doubt any MMO out there, which is already present and existent for VideoGamers and which happened to deliver an absolute Shitshow from time to time.

Shitshow in New World ? Check !
Shitshow in Elderscrolls Online ? Check !!
Shitshow in Worst of Warcraft ??? Check !!!

But nope. Not Ashes. It would be the Height of Folly to judge it under the same Standarts as all other Games, when it is not even here yet.

But i will never stop cracking a silent Smirk in my dark, brooding Edgelord-Corner in the Tavern,

knowing that a "LOT" of People have probably passed away, which actually "BOUGHT" - Pre-Order Stuff from 2018 or maybe even before that. Now THIIIIS - feels like being punished for loving the Idea and Concept of good MMO's.

The Fact that this never gets addressed whenever i bring this up, makes me crack a silent Smile every single time. And no, i am aware Nobody of You Guys is obliged to answer me on that.

It is just that i never witnessed such a frightening Time of Absence of a good MMO as a VideoGamer in my entire Life. Well i guess this kind of "Time" is always good for all of Us in a certain way. -> Meaning we can go outside and work/do something for our physical Health and Fitness - and we just know we are not missing anything. No "Fomo".

Why ? Because most if not all other MMO's out there are currently Soul-less Trash mostly, with annoying Grinds instead of meaningful and fun Content.

Alpha Two pushed back to Quarter Four ? What else would be new, in the World of MMO's ? Is Bobby Kotick grabbing Women by the Genitals again ? You know, the stuff People accused Donald Trump of.

Is China f~ing over Blizzard again ? Making a new Copy from WoW ?

Is New World failing once again ? Or is the next Asia MMO dead again in the first Days or Weeks after it's Release, because it attempts to make all of it's Players into mindless Bots grinding for even a single Item they would love to have for Months or their Life ?

If Alpha Two would get pushed back to Quarter Four, this could barely compare to all the Shitshow i had to witness against my Will in the last handful of Years. Because Ashes is still in Development and such things just happen sometimes.

It's interesting that so many people seem to believe A2 will be delayed, even when just a month ago Steven said they're still on track for Q3. MMO fans really are like beaten dogs. I guess if you believe it will be delayed then you can't be disappointed if it is, only pleasantly surprised if it isn't.

It's possible it'll be delayed, sure, but it seems like Q3 will actually happen unless there's a total curve ball.

If we don't hear A2 info this stream I think there will be a small riot, but Intrepid I'm sure it aware of that. Maybe we won't hear the start date, but I'm sure we'll hear something, like maybe a start month.

T&L isn't even on my radar, and while I intend to try the new WoW expansion, I'd pick A2 over it in a heartbeat if their launches overlapped.

Agreed, at best T&L would be a shallow distraction. That game is going to be such a P2W hot mess though. So, War Within and A2 seems like a good 12 month plan.

I will guess that A2 release is independent of other game releases and will happen in Q3 2024.

Any delays will involve how much of AoC is released at the beginning of A2, Some of the systems might get pushed back a bit, but that is OK....we will have Plenty to work with.

tech stream can be pretty interesting it all depends what else they throw in there tho, a hour or so of just server meshing and explaining how that works will make for a pretty boring stream

gives a whole month to get TWW out of the way and most people at that point would have grinded and then be focused on raids, for me if ashes drops sep 30 itll be ashes 90% of the time and then prob 1 day total a week on wow doing raids / weekly stuff

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

I personally think Alpha 2 won't get delayed for a few reasons:

- Alpha 2 will be persistent and available for years until launch, so the timing of other MMO releases doesn't impact it much.

- The release of other MMOs might actually help by preventing server overload.

- Steven has stated they are still on track for Q3 and I think he learned from the Alpha 1 experience.

Your thoughts on this?

They might want server overload to test how well their server infrastructure holds up.

On the other hand, since this is an alpha test there are going to be a lot of tourists who play for a day or two, realize it really is a test, and go somewhere else. It might be good if those people didn't inflate server populations right off the bat and slowly joined over a few weeks instead. Maybe then we could avoid long queues.

Not wanting to sound passive-aggressive, but this is not really a Accomplishment.

To stay on Track when announcing for so long (around a Year) that the Alpha 2 is starting and proudly announcing it's Start first in the Year and then in the Quarter concerned.

I am just glad they manage it at all.

Did we ever had an MMO where Seasons are present ? Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn ?

Where You can admire the beautiful Evolution from an Encampment of yours, into a Village, then possibly a Town, City, or even a Metropolis ?

Where You can own beautiful Estates (Freeholds), Houses, Taverns, Apartments, etc -> and own Castles with your Guildmates after conquering them ?

Where You can escort Caravans ? From like One Player-Node to the other.
Where You can make Alliances or make Enemies - and then engage into mighty, long Wars for Dominance, probably making new Vassals or Masters who serve under You or rule over You ?

And i personally hope they bring in the Monster Coin System as completely badass. And a bit of a Game-changer in Power. Not just some cheap Entertainment. Hopefully You can use to weaken an Enemy Nodes' City Walls and Defenses before attacking with a Node Siege to either level down or destroy your Opponent.

Where the Oceans resemble a bit of Sea of Thieves -> You rob and Pirate* or you yourself may be the poor Vessel that gets robbed and sunk.

Who is ready for our last Shot of a good MMO in the current VideoGame Industry ?

After listening in on various takes on this and seeing the lineup for Q3 regarding MMO content I think it would be reasonable and in Intrepids favor to delay to Q4, particularly October. As "compensation" they could give holders of A2 keys some halloween cosmetic if they think such a thing is necessary.
What I would like more would be a "manifesto" for the Alpha, where they detail what they currently intend to start with (archetypes, impletmented core features, regions, server size, level cap, available weapons) and order of new implementations without time predictions (just to get an idea of how things may expand from launch onwards)

they either drop it July or September i think they try and avoid the WoW expansion month which was August i beleive and tbh i wouldnt worry about T&L i feel that dropped off alot of people radar.
I wont be surprised if they delayed it to October but i hope not

I’m betting Sep, and I don’t think WoW TWW is a significant factor. Staying in Q3 is a big deal from a ‘say/do’ perspective.

I can't see the other games being a factor in releasing A2 and can't see them delaying it into Q4. If it was their launch of the game then maybe they'd time it different but I think they will prefer to stick to their target. My original bet was July, fingers crossed!

A2 is a testing environment, think a few people on here might have forgot that, we're all excited to be testing the game and help the development until it's launch but A2 shouldn't be treated like a game launch or expected to play like one.

Releasing A2 at the same time as another title is a good idea for IS. They do NOT want their test server to be overloaded right at the start.

My friends are having to pick between WoW and T&L, because WoW raids are locked until Sept 10th, and Mythic+ starts Sept 17th. I'm playing T&L

IMO A2 will release a couple weeks after Labor Day (US end-of-summer holiday Sept 2nd)...and if so, I'll largely ignore it until T&L drives me away.
