Female Armors

So far all the female armors or most of them that we've seen have been almost a copy paste of the male ones with maybe a bra on top of the normal armor to show that its "female" , there is no feminine design and no uniqueness to them , i am not saying we need bikini armors ( but some for RP wouldn't hurt) but they could at least design the armors for like females instead of dudes with B**Bs, there is a very small amount of decent ones which are paid cosmetics that most people will never have.

I agree with the sentiment. Over the years this topic has been brought up many times, by people claiming to be women non the less, and the opposition to feminine armors is:
No bikini armors (even though nobody asked for them)
Not realistic (lol, you are playing a high fantasy mmo, not staging a reanactment)

Some people dislike good looks and are doing mental gymnastics trying to sound reasonable in opposing feminine looks.

That's super disappointing to hear. I haven't gotten the chance to see the armor/cosmetics yet, but one thing I am REALLY sick of is games erasing femininity completely. New World armor/cosmetics for female characters was a nightmare. I WANT to have the option to look feminine.

For "Bikini-Stuff", we can have civilian Clothes/Items. Even Worst of Warcraft does that now, bringing in more and more civilian looking cosmetic Items that function for every "Armor-Class".

I'm glad I got in early purely for these cosmetics where the female option differs and isn't a copy paste. along with 2 other robe/ballroom style sets.

Male version (on female model):

@GreatPhilisopher is right, 90% of the cosmetics look like these lower two and it's made me wonder many times why Intrepid has added the option for a second gender when they clearly don't want them to be seen.

(I'd also appreciate the above armor set going back to the outrageously offensive sky blue colour it is in the concept. It looked amazing, unless its a vfx thing. In which case: as you were.)

I hold out hope that we'll get more costumes and ingame styles like the first 2. where the femininity can shine through with just some nice tweaks to differentiate the two because right now it's disappointing.

I'm a bit indifferent since I only play male characters.
But as far as people I know personally who actually complain about there not being enough"feminine" "sexy", or "bikini" armor options, not a single one of those concerned have been a dude lmao.

I don't care if I'm playing a male or female character, I'm cranking that metaphorical hotness slider all the way up.

If women don't feel alienated by skimpy outfits, as some would have us believe they do, then I don't see why they shouldn't exist. Just make them skimpy for men and women. Bam, equality.

Barring that, at the very least give the female armors a feminine shape. I don't think anyone wants their female character to look like a male character.

I completely understand where you're coming from. The current state of female armor design in many games often falls short of offering a truly unique and feminine aesthetic. While it's great to see armor that is practical and protective, it would be wonderful to also have designs that celebrate and highlight the femininity of female characters without resorting to overly sexualized outfits.

This would add another layer of immersion and personalization for players who want their characters to stand out and reflect their unique identities.

Additionally, having a mix of both purchasable cosmetics and in-game attainable armors with these design principles would ensure that all players have the opportunity to enjoy and express their characters in ways that resonate with them.

I'm hopeful that with continued feedback from the community, we'll see a broader range of armor designs that cater to diverse tastes and preferences. Let's keep the conversation going and see what creative solutions we can inspire!

I mean, feminine does not equal trashy. Your not a prostitute, your an assasin or healer or whatever. I think it fine there is civilian clothing, which can be underwear, hell go full eva suit for all i care. But armor, is armor. Armor to me, is not made to look feminine, even though most games gives it a feminine twist, which is fine. Armor is for protection, not to attract sexual encounters.

this game is described as high fantasy , yet most of the armors and frankly a lot of mobs/mounts are normal animals (like the 50 versions of slightly different looking goats and lizards mounts/mobs) make it feel like normal medieval earth or low fantasy at most , not a high fantasy with magic and super humans and whatnot ...

no disrespect to intrepid designers but they need to step up their game cuz it looks like they having a case of DEI thats happening for the games in the West , people can shit on eastern MMOs as much as they want but even if they arent perfect they know how to make good looking characters and good looking armors which is ironic considering this game inspiration is literally all eastern MMOs

And to clear things up, "feminine" is not a synonym to "sexy", "skimpy", "bikini", "boobs" etc as some people may think.
A feminine appearance can differ alot depending on the aesthetic and culture. It's about shapes and lines that create details that are associated with femininity. It's actually not so much about showing bare skin or exaggerate sexualised parts of the female body.

When I backed the Kickstarter, it did not mention I was backingh a Puritan game. There are a couple things that need to be clarified in your statement.

Don't burdon the game by taking away choices of players and thier playstyles. This is a "high fantasy" game. Not a church sim, or an DEI game (hopefully). If it had a publisher I could see them forcing Intrepid to impliment draconian policies, but fortuntatly they don't. Now I'm not in favor of to much lewd behavior myself, but, I could see it in game in places, and I might or might not go to those places. Just quit limiting choices of people.

It's just that when people say they want more feminine armor there is always a bunch of people that immediately complain that they don't want bikini armors, boob armor and such in their game, as if they believe that "feminine" is a synonym to that.

I do agree we need some more um how do you put it Armor that are not practical in use for combat, Some variety is nice i know some guys want more skin shown in there armor sets so they can get barbarian feel and im sure some girls and guys would like to see more femine styles like slightly cuter/sexy armor/outfits within reason.
when people play fantasy games they want to be able to make character they can mesh with of course within reason of the game we dont realy want people running around shirtless with boardshorts or a bikini and g string in combat :P but we can blur the lines a little between practical use and impractical use of armor's :P

Any given piece of gear should look as similar as possible, regardless of the gender that is wearing it.

Armor should look like armor.

However, not everything player characters wear in game is armor.
