Thoughts on the spellbook weapon.
PenguinPaladin
I believe in the bard video the character was using a spell book as a weapon.
Im personally not a fan of a giant cartoon book floating off beside me. I'd perfer a more reasonable book, held in one hand at times and floating at others depending on the animations sure. But that book in the video was literally bigger than the dwarves kit shield.

I agree. Should be a held normal sized book. Current book look more like a combat pet than a weapon.
It's also not a good looking silhouette with your character. If you drew a basic shape of your character along with their sword/staff, you'd see there is somewhat of a weight balance, a very narrow triangle shape. If you drew your character along with the spellbook, It's EXTREMELY front heavy due to the massive book being 6ft in front of your character.

I loved the floating spell book but its already been stated by the team that its not even close to done. There will be a rested state for the book. Where they dont know. On the belt, on the back? That type of feed back would be helpful I think

I completely understand your perspective. The oversized spell book does seem a bit exaggerated, especially when compared to the size of the character. Having a more proportionate and versatile book that could switch between being held and floating depending on the animation would certainly add to the immersion and aesthetic appeal of the Bard class.
Perhaps Intrepid Studios could consider offering different visual options or skins for spell books, allowing players to choose a design that better fits their character's style and the overall fantasy setting. Customization in weapon appearances could help cater to a wider range of player preferences while maintaining the integrity of the class's visual identity.

I think it was too big but I actually really liked the way it was animated.

Too big and it should probably be in your hand or on your belt when you are not using it.
It should start floating if you unsheathe it or you are in the combat, but still not engaging mobs.

I like the idea of having it as a weapon, but yeah, it's just far too big. It should be book-sized. I mean, it's a book. All that stuff happening from the book held in the player's hand would look amazing. I realise it's harder to get it done from there, but I believe in the team's ability to work it out.

Agreed book was a bit too big. Maybe there could be some legendary version that is larger or something though.

I'm not sure if I ever saw a floating book weapon before, I call it innovation

I'm not so against the size. Giant Tomes are a Fantasy staple, but they are generally fixed upon some large pedestal in some dusty library. But I can get behined a modest size reduction. But reducing to the size of a normal book is NOT warented.
What I think is far MORE imporatant is for the Character to be animated more to look like they are AWARE that the book is even their. An arm should be going out to flip pages or be under the book, not touching it but seemingly levitating it over an open hand, the head should actually move to apear to read from the book etc.
Basically the current book looks to have a been a way to skip doing any character weapon-weilding animation and this makes the book seem more like a magical familiar which is hovering near the player then a weapon the character is weidling. I think this is actually the root of most of the negative vides people have but they don't know how to put it into words.
