Macros in Ashes?

I haven't played to many mmorpgs, mostly ESO and WoW. But when it comes to world of warcraft, one can write some pretty interesting macros to help and assist you with your rotation and other things.

Examples:
Targeting macros, spell sequence, change/cancel form or stance, potion/food buff into a spell, modifier to add multiple spells to the same button, and much more.

I'm just wondering what other people think about macros and how other games have implemented it compared to WoW, and if it should be a thing in Ashes.

MMO's inherently aren't competitive

MMORPG's inherently are extremely competitive.

You could opt to play in a non-competitive manner with some MMORPG's, though probably not Ashes.

To your point about physically impared gamers, I've yet to personally see a physically impared gamer where the remedy is using macros as opposed to using a better designed input device.

Stevens comments on macros in relation to Ashes is that it is impossible to seperate macros from scripts, so if they allow for one, they allow for both.

You're trolling right
Target/focus macros are extremely powerful, and they're used by literally every single top wow pvper for a reason.

Once you allow the use of macros, even slightly, it opens the door for potential misuse, and things can quickly spiral out of control. I’m more in favor of an overall ban on macros if it ensures better detection of cheaters. Alternatively, a system where everyone has access to macros could be introduced, but that seems redundant. It would still open the door to exploitation and hinder proper cheat detection.

• Competitive/Online Games: Macros are often considered cheating if they provide an unfair advantage, violating the game’s terms of service.

• Single-Player/Non-Competitive Games: Macros may not be viewed as cheating but are often subject to community norms and developer rules.

bit of on older chap here .
i used macros in EQ ( was a healer ) .
thy gave us complete heal ( on a 10 second timer ) .
during raids we had a heal rotation ( like every4 or 5 seconds the tank needid a complete heal )
macros you coud make in game ( i think we coud do like 5 lines or so and i am probeplie butchering the codes )
raid was :
cast 1
wait 35 ( depending on the mob this woud change )
/groepchat now it is your turn XXXX ( next healer name )

during normal gameplay i used a macro for complete heal olso , it was someting like :
cast 1
/groepchat casting CH on %T , this takes 10 second do not leave the vicinity of the healer.

or even just a basic macro that just did a :
/assist ( whith or whitout the tanks name )
or as a puller a :
/groepchat pulling a %T be readdy.

%T was command to say the name of the target .

Considering the amount it took to craft in SWG this was a must if you didn't want to be crippled with
Carpal tunnel syndrome.

this should not be confused with someone who can record a string of keyboard buttons and the repeat that string by click of a set button vs what I put up here that will run without being at the keyboard at all. One is I saw a plane vs I am the plane.

I'm glad to see that there’s no macro support, as I believe it can disrupt the game balance. Similarly, I hope mods aren’t permitted, as they can alter the intended experience. It's important to play the game as it was designed to be played!

For instance, if you want to craft five different armor sets, it would be incredibly helpful to have the option to "preload" all the necessary resources for those different sets. This way, you could execute the crafting process in one click.

This streamlined approach would make the experience more enjoyable and efficient, allowing players to focus on the creative aspects of crafting rather than getting bogged down by repetitive tasks.
