I'm very vocal about not liking ESO, but those examples cover two fairly popular MMOs, and ESO is action combat. So is there any MMO where you like the controls? Maybe Black Desert? Any others? Anyways, this isn't an action combat MMO. There are disadvantages and advantages to that. Try and pay attention to the advantages (many of them only materialise later in the game when you have more skills to manage and decisions to make than you could ever have in a game where the "mouse movement changes your view/direction.")

I get the trying to be different model, which may have worked 30 years ago, when I first started MMO's, but nowadays it doesn't wash. "Modern "Players want smooth interactions, not clunky mechanics. I'm not trying to make AoC like NW, I'm trying to improve the arcaic mouse clicker system of this MMO, a full supported action system is mandatory for a game like this in 2025.
