This an interview from like two months ago. Did they have another?

Are you just posting Steven's interviews or for PS?

He's going to need to roll those balls to Steven if he pitches them any slower. Played out like a PR puff piece. Not necessarily bad, but it didn't really address some of the concerns I've seen in game or ones expressed in the forums. Which doesn't seem to be the point of the interview anyways.

Here's some of my thoughts on pieces of the interview.

I still don't see this as an Alpha, it's a play test. But tomato, potato, semantics aside it is what it is.

Glad to hear the caravan name plates are in, or at least planned.

The vassal system seems interesting, but until more is actually seen it's hard to say if it'll work. He probably should have drawn us a picture lol.

Guild progression system isn't going address the issue of MEGA guilds. Guilds like Pirates will still have several guilds, so what's the prevent them from just selecting all passive bonuses for each of their guilds. I see no value in choosing more members vs passives. This could matter in guild vs guild content, but as far as open world it means nothing. Seems good on paper, but I have doubts it'll provide the results Steven wants. I would like to viable ways to combat zergs, so I hope this works out.

I'm excited to test the rogue, the dev team has done an excellent job so far with all the other classes in how they feel and play and I'm sure a lot of love was put into the rogue as well.

The same gear looking different on different races is weird. It'd be cool to see a Vek in Dwarf armor. The gear magically changes when passed to a different race? Additional to it being weird it limits the gear appearance per the race. Think of all the different assets players could have used if you made them for all the races. 9 playable races, that's nine different sets of assets per gear window that has to be made and a player character can only wear one of those sets (or render one of those sets)? I like that there's specific racial styles of gear, I just don't like that other races can't use the other gear styles. And that they change when passed to a different race. It feels cheap, and probably cost too many man hours to do. 9 races all different gear styles? Probably a better way to use those resources.

Loot piles having a UI to show guild name and node name will be great too. This is needed, don't leave out node or religion when it comes out. I want to know who I'm stealing from. Also might want to put in something that allows your party/family/guild member to loot your ashes too without getting flagged.

User generated music will be cool, I had a lot of fun with it in AA.

This doesn't feel like a test. It feels like a early access grindy game. I like grindy games, but I don't want to grind so much to test, just to get wiped later. I could and would have tested so much more if I didn't get wiped in phase 1. Then drop rates, mob rates were down and players per sqft doubled at the start of phase 2. I may not actually do anymore testing until phase 3 or beta (if any) outside checking out any new classes or races that get release. I'd like to test other systems as they are put out but having to go through the grind again in the current climate won't be enjoyable.
