Considering buying Alpha 2 bundle

Just discovered the hype for this game, looks decent. Wondering if and when I buy the alpha does that also mean I've bought the main game when it is released? Or is this game going to be free to play?

The testing access you get will last until the game releases (no one knows when that is) and you'll get a month of sub of the game itself (this is stated in the bundle info before you purchase). The game is sub-only. The alpha client will also become the PTR after the release, so you'll have access to that as well.

This place has more info on what the game will be https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Engaging_and_immersive_story

Right now it's a test, so don't expect to play it.

@Vaknar yet another point on "your main site information is presented poorly" graph.

The game is fun but we are here to test and it's a real Alpha. Bugs and missing systems. Things that are there often not working as intended. It's not worth testing unless your plan is to help make the game better. There is allot of things to test and give feedback on.

ima let u know now the alpha is in a decent spot but it still an alpha if ur looking for a more game like experience however u might wanna hold off till phase 3 where more of the game elements are coming together.

However if u dont mind a bit of a mess and just wanna play around then go right ahead it in a good enough spot that it is playable and enjoyable but definetly not perfect and can be frustrating at times :D jus tthe other day i had a caravan teleport away off the map when i changed it from boat to land that was kinda annoying :D

It's a play test. You'll be 'playing' the game for the devs to collect data from you. You'll also be able to report bugs in games on the forums. But you could end up spending 3 hours looking for copper only to find like 4 pieces then have that disappear when you put it in your storage due to bugs. The play test is a massive grind with little reward from a players perspective. I haven't played since new years day and probably won't until phase 3 or beta. it's a niche game as it is, and probably will be when it launches. I recommend watching some youtube videos of the systems being tested. if those seem fun to test and you got the disposable cash, then why not, you might get some enjoyment out of it. Or if you just want to support the game go ahead and throw more cash at them, but they have enough to finish it. don't expect to play the game, and don't expect the testing to actually be more fun than it is frustrating, don't expect your time to be valued.

This is an alpha, not a "fun game" to be enjoyed. Go into this with the expectation that you're not going to experience a complete game and you'll be fine.

As all the others have said, its a test and we're testing the systems and providing feedback for intrepid.
there will a bunch of stuff that changes and there will be bugs crashes and exploits but thats are role atm is to help get rid of these.

If you are looking to get onboard i would wait on P3 there is more content and the rogue should be coming out to test aswell

find yourself a community if you havent already get to know them and get info from the game. its very much a group game at the moment so if its just you i would find a guild first
