Sooo, it seems that in 2019 I paid $130 to wait for, what? so far 5 years to Beta? and still this is nowhere near ready? STAR CITIZEN vibes anyone? yeah go ahead, keep on milking it, i think its time to start making some noise.

    You realize that 10 years is not at all unreasonable as a development timeframe for an MMORPG, right?

    Eh. I've been pretty critical since phase 2 of some design and testing choices they've made. Mainly the style of "testing" we doing on the "production" servers. It's not fun, so I stopped, but still hopping in every now and then when something new comes out. Not going to waste my time grinding away in it though. The time line doesn't bother me in fact there is a solid time line for alpha, beta is still TBD but that makes sense. Comparing Star Citizen to Ashes, is a fair comparison but Ashes HAS a timeline for their immediate goals.

    Star Citizen started in 2012 and entered "early access" in 2017, testing for backers in 2015. I mean Early Access is a scam 99% of the time and the use of the term should be a big red flag. What even is early access? Is that pre alpha? post beta? To me it should be more like a post beta, it's a magic word that means whatever they want it to mean...
    700million raised with a dev team of 1000.

    Ashes started in 2016. Alpha 1 in 2021, Alpha 2 end of 2024 that will run through 2025. Which I think is a great idea to open it (minus my complaint above). Beta will likely be end of 25 or early 26.
    maybe 50 million raised from sales and kickstarts 48/9 million from steven. and a team of 250~

    Ashes is in a WAY better state just number wise than Star Citizen. I can't speak for game state as I haven't played star citizen at all. I generally avoid the 'early access' tagged games. If it releases I will. Ashes is in a meh alpha state overall.
