Feedback transparency & communication
Heyho Intrepid,
Lets have a discussion about some really important topics, im not even sure if anyone of you guys will read it ...
I personally asked myself .. am i an alpha tester and sadly i came to the conclusion ... No way ... This is an early access more than anything else ...
Why ?
2 differrent realm types the ptr(where the real testing is done) and the other "alpha2" aka early access servers
When patches are going live on the non ptr servers tons of bugs are already known and reported, and thats the truth. And even when you report something via /bug it seems these are not getting processed or read properly.
Example ? Alright ... Just a couple days ago you guys asked the community about the caravan carphin teleport bug. Cmon really ? You must have tons of ingame reports from the past... What happened to these reports ?
There was not a single day in phase 2 where the community really got asked to help and test a specific mechanic or something new implemented ...
There is zero communication about anything... The only way to get "information" is to watch tons of interviews and pray to rngesus that steven is gonna tell us whats in the pipeline... Breadcrumbs
There is a roadmap but the community is in the dark...
Would be great to have in written form:
-Patchnotes in advance
-Roadmaps
-Upcoming fixes
-what are you guys really working on
-give us something real to test
And so on ...
There is so much information you could provide us with but you guys are not willing to communicte properly ...
Facepalm Situation today and the first time we should "test" something:
Today you gave us 10 minutes notice in advance for the server down .. alright ... No problem ...
What are we testing ? ... Backend stuff ... Not your Business... Just play ... Wtf ...
If we spend our time and try to help at least tell us what youre gonna plan to achieve ... Whats going on ... Let the community help to create an awesome game

It works well for games with very defined features that need to be iterated on a lot, like Battle Arenas, but not so much for MMOs trying to be 'living worlds'.
This sort of response subtly discourages developers (either directly or through their managers) from working on their small-touches, their little ideas that are helpful (for some people) in making the world feel alive.
There are things in the games I play that even a serious player has only about a 1% chance of actually encountering, but because of this they would never be put into a patch note or 'serious communication'.
Right now, everything 'else' is in the 'just play' part, and honestly, so are those things. If you want to check 'how often a random player encounters your mini-event/spawn/behaviour', you don't tell them it's there, you just set the data collection and move on to the next thing.
I think MMORPGs would be better if companies focused more on letting devs have time to play, both 'to actually play the game' and 'to play around with adding rare things to make the world feel more alive'. Neither of those things goes into a Roadmap or Patch note.
This section, for me, is almost right, in the sense that I understand the feeling that spawned it, but I wish it represented the reality of the situation more so that if anyone at Intrepid actually wanted to change anything, they knew what to change.
If I were managing/directing anything, I wouldn't be able to change anything based on this because it's 'not true enough'.
As soon as Intrepid list everything being worked on, people will start to expect that in the next build. If there is an eta on things, the minute anything is late, people will start complaining.
As to what we should be testing - yeha, just play. If you see something that isn't as it should be, report it. If Intrepid get in to a situation where they want more feedback on something specific, they will ask. As you are here to test, if they ask for feedback on something specific, don't question why they are asking for it, just give the feedback you have.
The devs are doing a great job dont get me wrong, i love the game and the potential is huge.i really want this game to succeed.
the lack of communication is just something i didnt expect. And i believe many players are feeling left out. The open development without an nda is something new and there will be a lot of backlash bc of that. But there is also a huge oppurtunity to get instant feedback from the players, to use the hive mind to develop the vision together.
The internet is a cold weird and
sometimes a cruel place.. but without an open discussion there wont be any changes
And sry english is not my native language im trying to phrase my opinion in a normal way and hope my thoughts are not misunderstood😅
