Node Siege System Why Tho?

ChaffyJayChaffyJay Member, Alpha Two
The first Node Siege on Vyra might as well be called an alliance guild war.

Nova/Barcode vs Envy/Polar

One hundred people are on the defending side, and 10 of them are from the defending node.... 10% are defending the node they are citizens of.

At the time of writing 57 Nova and 21 Barcode, the leader isn't even the Mayor of Winstead and instead is someone in New Aela....

What even is this system?

What were you expecting to be different during the test phase?

Vyra is basically 5(?) guilds organized enough to PvP in this way. After they give the first wave of feedback, there may be space for others to join in more.
    Stellar Devotion.

I was expecting something in place that prioritizes citizens from Winstead... like they said would happen.

tbh should only be node citizens and nodes in the vassal system (when that gets added) that should be able to join defender of attacking side

    I disagree.

There are many reasons one could have an interest in which side wins a node siege - it being your home node is only one such reason.

It ended with one side exploiting..... what a way to sum up how this alpha is going XD

To be completely honest, I believe this is actually the best approach: the more players exploit bugs or bend the systems, the more material the developers have to work with to fix, balance, and improve overall coherence.

If I understood the patch notes correctly, what you’re pointing out (rightfully so) is a known bug that will be fixed soon, ensuring that the town's mayor is properly assigned as the war leader.

The current version of the system will continue to evolve over the coming months. Eventually, when a node siege is declared, all citizens of the target node along with those of its vassal nodes will be considered defenders, and the same structure will apply to attackers.

So there’s no need to worry too much for now the current 100v100 format is a temporary phase designed to test and gradually scale up to full-scale PvP.

Thanks for the comment @Imanek. Just wanted to give my feedback on what I could test in the current build. I know fixes are coming, but I think it's still helpful feedback to point out the early faults and the view from smaller guilds.

You're absolutely right to share your thoughts and feedback on the different features of the game. My message was mainly to inform you and "reassure" you that these features will be significantly improved in the coming months 🙂
