Proposal for Introducing a Teleportation System on Servers
With the upcoming launch of a fresh server — thanks to the community’s requests — I believe it’s important to address an issue that concerns many players: the lack of a convenient teleportation system. In its current state, traveling across the world of Ashes of Creation consumes an excessive amount of time, especially when a player simply needs to get from point A to point B without any meaningful exploration involved.
This doesn’t encourage engagement or enjoyment of the gameplay. On the contrary — it creates a barrier, particularly for the core demographic: adults over 30 who are working, financially capable, and have limited time to play. No one wants to spend 40 minutes just walking to a location where the actual gameplay finally begins.
While the argument that “the world should be explored” and “traveling is part of the adventure” is understandable, it doesn’t eliminate the need for a balance between philosophy and convenience. Crafting, trading, PvP, and other activities will still require players to move through and engage with the world. A well-designed teleportation system wouldn’t kill the spirit of exploration — it would empower players with choice, improve logistics, and make the experience more enjoyable.
If Steven truly listens to the community — as he did in the case of fresh servers — then let’s also push for teleportation. We’re asking for the voices of time-constrained players to be heard. We’re not asking to turn the game into a soulless auto-pathing simulator — we’re asking for respect for our time.
I call on the community to support this initiative. Together, we can influence the direction of the project and make it more accessible and fair for all player types.
Adding teleportation would not only demonstrate respect toward the player base, but also show that the developers value their community just as much as the community values and believes in this project.

From node to node? Within a node?
Eventually, teleportation will likely be introduced into the game one way or another. I sincerely hope the developers hear us and implement a system that helps reduce excessive travel time. At the current stage of the open world, moving across the map often consumes a disproportionate amount of time, which can be frustrating and demotivating for many players.

For example. Lets say a guild is running a few caravans from one node to another. If a rival guild gets information about this, they can all just teleport to the closest node and attack in great numbers. This would be very bad and make running caravans practicly impossible.
I think it's a good decision to keep teleportation and other means of fast travel away from Ashes. Stop trying to make this game into all the other boring mmo's and enjoy it because it offer something different.
In terms of transportation, you’ll have:
So no, you're not speaking for the whole community a part of it is also against teleportation, and there will always be differing opinions. The game isn't finalized yet, but the whole concept of dynamic nodes, the immersive work behind it, and the uniqueness of each node in terms of gathering, crafting, etc., will naturally force players to prioritize and progress that way and that’s a good thing. Not just jumping from one node to another with the click of a button...
