HP/Mana Regen Rate Issues at Low Level

Lark WyllLark Wyll Member, Alpha One, Alpha Two, Early Alpha Two
I am at level 4 Ranger on the new server Shol. Currently HP/Regen rates while sitting are currently set to what appears to be 3 HP/10 seconds resting. This is an abomination.

Do you game dev's actually believe every mmo player will play with a full group from level 1 to end game with a bard and healers every step of the way?

3 HP/10 seconds, my hp bar at level 4 is 269 hp. That is just under 5 minutes to regen a fricking hp bar at level 4. This makes me want to alt+f4. What a waste of time playing a game like this. Please fix the hp/mana regen rates to not make players want to quit. No I have no interest in hiring a darn Cleric bot to follow me around the map while I level at low level. At end game play I totally get requiring full groups to maintain resources. But pre-level 5, 10, 20 your game design is set up to make not playing in a group an absolute miserable experience.

This is a DOA experience. Please give whatever dev thinks HP/regen should be like this a smelling salt to wake them up. This is miserable.

Thank you for fixing the hp regen sitting/resting issue. 5hp/sec. is much better. Thanks,

I think this is a server lag issue, rather than a design change. My rations weren't working at all because I was on a very shitty server worker, while they worked just fine in a different location. Same for regen, from what I saw.

Have you tried sitting in several different places? Also, if the regen is in fact so low, why not just buy rations that pretty much put you to full in 20s and cost no real money.

Lud, I was level 4 at the time. And you'd have to use a ration after every 1-2 mobs you fight. That isn't realistic. We have to kill 100-200 mobs per level even at low level. That's 50-100 rations per/level. That isn't viable game design.

To your other point there does seem to be inconsistency with hp/mp regen but I haven't figured out if there is a pattern to it by SW or not yet.

What archetype are you playing? Even my tank didn't need to eat every other mob, and that's with the literal starting gear. Any gear better than that makes leveling even easier.

This depends on when Ranger gets meaningful kiting ability, though.
    Stellar Devotion.

I pretty much play as a ranger though :D Use bow and just finish the mob with an ability when they run up to me. I'd imagine the ranger has at least one attacking ability at lvl1, considering that even tank has it.

Start with that ability and then finish off the mob with autos. I doubt that tank passively has way more defense or hp at such a low lvl. Though even then, I'd usually use rations on 6-7th mob I think. And that's w/o proper kiting of them and instead going into them to use my melee abilities, so a kiting ranger (even just with the backwards dodge) should probably survive the same amount fairly easily.

Ok but the bell curve though...

You're probably meaningfully above average, and whether OP is average or not, someone will be, so it will still apply to them.
    Stellar Devotion.
