Petition to stop losing Glint at Armor-Repair Cost
All jokes aside~

My Problem
I am consistently under-funded to repair my own gear

My thoughts
There's a big problem with getting trained and/or baited into PvP by higher levels in many grind spots that lower levels frequent. My healer has been rocked with the auto-flag heal bait a lot. Too much to enjoy.

How does it affects my gameplay
For example: I had 27 copper when I logged in today after our group got trained on yesterday--which isn't enough for armor repair, so I mined rocks for a few hours to vendor basalt until I could repair it. Joined another group and farmed for 2 hours; earned 2 gold in glint. We did well! I then lost all those hours of work to an auto-flag heal when a dps pre-flagged before he realized he was fighting lvl 25s who were trying to wipe us. After all those hours farming; I had 10 silver left--which you guessed it: Wasn't enough for armor repairs. So, when I log in tomorrow, I'll probably spend several hours mining basalt again for repairs.
For the record; I have things in the market to sell... they're just not selling, and when they expire, I won't have enough money to relist them. So there goes my alternate income. So basalt vendor it is!

Why does it matter?
The gameplay loop above is the gameplay loop of someone who has way too much time to burn on the game at the moment--and I spend a majority of my game-time on things I don't want to do. In this case; mining basalt.
I'm sure most people will only be able to dedicate something like 3 hours a day to play at most after work. Which means several (2 or so) entire game sessions may be dedicated to mining basalt or something else they don't want to do just so they can engage with the content they do want to: in this case; group play! Or farming etc. I just want to click my heal-y buttons. But I'd say I spent 6 hours mining basalt and 2 hours playing the game as a healer. Not the ratio I want.

My Request
Please brainstorm a way to fix the gameplay ratio. I'll leave the fix itself up to you, hardworking devs! But I'd like and prefer to spend a majority of my time healing not mining.
For the record, I like that you lose some stuff when you die. I'm not advocating to stop that or to not drop anything. It adds risk, but I don't like not having enough money left for repairs. It prevents me from engaging with the gameplay I want to enjoy. Thank you for reading and considering this feedback!

While I do feel for your case, if you were that poor and had glint worth 2 gold then you should have banked long before reaching that point. Especially if your gear was that close to breaking.

The only way you can have lost that much glint in one death is if you converted all of it to higher rarity glint. An advice, that I learnt the hard way, is to not convert all glint into the biggest possible rarity; doing so often puts you at a higher risk of losing more. (Obviously, it also increases the chances of losing less... but in general I prefer to play it safe by keeping them at blue rarity as maximum).

    As for the request in itself;
if your gear breaks and you're absolutely broke then I do believe that farming gatherables is a fair way of obtaining the gold to repair. The only alternative reason I can think of right now is that you could go negative in gold for repair bills (aka, go in debt) - but that would be an absolute nightmare that grief-PvPers would abuse to the moon and back.

You are correct. I converted it into a higher rarity to save bag-space. (Thanks for the advice, I will stop doing so!) And it wasn't one death; it was several. As the healer; I always help my group get out of an area they're struggling in.
I didn't leave earlier for two reasons. One: I was my groups sole healer. It's hard to make town-trips when the whole group ends when you leave. Two: I had a INT scroll active and planned to leave when it ran out. INT scroll gives 180min boost. I had one hour left. I also think many people who will only have 2-3 hours to play a day will try to spend most of that time in a grind-group and only drop off their glint at the end. Mini-runs aren't as fun, honestly. I think it's a design flaw.
