What are your expectations for the necromancer?

Was wondering what everyone was expecting on playing a necromancer, i my self was hoping not only able to summon a couple minions at lest 3 lower level one or one big one but the ability to do some damage and heal your mates at the same time like the spell bloom & doom spell from d&d

It feels like many of you have extremely inflated ideas of skills/abilities that they will be pulling off. I mean I am excited as all of you, but these seem like single player game abilities.

I expect IS to have time to develop a new class/weapon system even after A2.

The current design is too ambitious, without signs of rewarding class ID for numerous iconic videogame archetypes (traditional classes, paladins, necros, etc etc etc).
Some things dont need a new wheel reinvention. Quality of options is better than quantity of options.

I hope they allocated time for redevelopment of classes/weapons, their animations and more.
It's a massive part of combat, which is a main pillar of mmorpgs.
The class feeling is more prominent than any other game in mmos, as opposed to survival games, pvp battle royal or team v team games or mobas.

I disagree with the proposed design, the IS possition is "we are confident in our design".
I just hope they have time for a plan B. It would be better than developing land management, surveying (artificial solution to artificial RNG mining problem), or gathering griefing potential and systems to balance it.

The past few weeks we saw more plans for it. Unecessary. And people applaud and encourage, whilst the spin-to-win ability has the same animation for greatsword, daggers and probably all the other weapons. That's bad. As bad as the choice for some ability animations which spawn magic armaments and removing the actual item weapons from the animation.

I am at a loss (being a rl tradesman) for the love of some gamers show towards life skills gameplay (instead of picking up a couple tools and creating real life things even just as a hobby) and the little regard they give for class/weapons in an mmorpg.
Such little discussion over it.

I would love to be able to use the same tech as the character creator to modify my summons, based on set templates of course. I am most likely making a Dünir summoner, possibly Necromancer, and I'd want my summons to also be Dünir based. Dünir skeleton, zombie, ghoul, whatever.

In my opinion, a Necromancer has to have some kind of imbalance.
OP when: they have put time into rituals, phylactery, long cast long term spells. Yet these have downsides, factions attack on sight, bodies or souls (zombies vs ghosts) must be gathered.
Weaker when: they have not done the above. In this case the hidden phylactery is even more important.

Necromancer is definitely one of the most anticipated archetypes! Details haven’t been fully revealed yet, so we’ll need to wait for official showcases to know exactly how it will play out.

With the flexibility of Ashes’ class system, it wouldn’t be surprising to see options for summoning multiple minions, focusing on one powerful creature, or even mixing in damage and support tools. That kind of variety is what makes the archetype so exciting to think about.

We’re still in Alpha, so for now the main focus is on testing core systems, but once more info drops, it’s going to be really fun to see how Necromancer takes shape in Verra!

This should pr~obably not be able to be done to Undead Mobs heavily involved in Quests -> like for Example the Undead ("lost/missing(?) Scouts") around Aela - the Riverlands Starting Area.

the Ability to either combine their Efforts and summon something a bit bigger and stronger "together" -> or MAYBE get the Abilities to summon a bigger, far stronger and more resilient Summon than average -> with a much, "much" higher Cooldown-Timer in Comparison to all the other, usual Summons.

For Example a Graveyard-Golem-sized or m~aybe even bit bigger Golem -> which a single Necromancer can for Example summon only Once every 72 Hours after summoning the mighty Summon.

( Summon can also "move" slower in Order not to be overpowered in PvP-Scenarios/Cases, but is stronger against PvE-Type Enemies. )

Or "maybe" -> this type of bigger, more powerful Summon is only available to be summoned once a WEEK ? Or maybe only every 3 Days -> if "several" Necromancers combine their Efforts ?

I also wish - no i downright BEG -> for more different Looks and Move-Sets/Grits - for Grayeyard Golems, for Example.
I guarantee You with a 100% Likelihood -> it will make the Game look VASTLY better/superior when several Graveyard Golems are nearby each other.

i wish for undead WORLDEVENT BOSSES -> who terrorise our Lands and can even play a part in our Nodes being destroyed AND overtaken into undead Nodes while such a World Event would be active.

Imagine a towering, HUGE Tumok-Worldboss sized or even bit bigger Monstrosity - roaming around, spreading Plague/Pest-Damage all around itself in a relative huge Radius,

and even raising killed Players as simple Undead Mobs/Minions when they die through it.
(( Okay i admit this here has nothing to do really anymore with the Necromancer

OF COURSE -> such huge, undead Worldbosses - Please also with different Looks, Designs, Grits/Move-Sets, etc. It will make a much bigger Impact for the Optics as People might guess.

And then we have of Course the huge, towering SIEGE-Summons. Imagine +10 to a maximum of 50 Necromancers i an Army or so putting their Efforts together to Summon a HUUUGE, undead Siege Golem -> to attack and damage or even destroy the Walls or Gates of an Enemy Node in a Node Siege.

I mean Undead Siege-Summons SO BIG that they could make a normal +3 Player/Summoner Summon which could be summonable only once every Three to Seven Days look like a small Pushover/Shrimp.
Or would let a normal Graveyard-Golem looks same as tiny and puny next to them.

Lastly and i hope i don't got too far here, regarding the more sadistic and twisted parts of my Psyche, (

Scenario,

You managed to BREACH AND DESTROY at least one Wall of an Enemy Node in a City/Node Siege leaving at least one significantly big Hole in which your Troops and Army can enter and swarm into the Enemy Node.

The Hole/Breach is a Chokepoint and fought over like Hell. It is a Meatgrinder. (lol)

"SPECIAL (or not) SIEGE TYPE SUMMON" !!

" Walking/Defiled Massgrave !! "

It can not do as much/huge Damage to Buildings or Walls like a more Stoney/Heavy Siege Type Golem -> and is also not really as big.

But it USES it's (lol) many shrieking and groaning Corpses which it is made off - as Whip-like Limbs to slap and smack around Enemy Players,

or maybe even SHOOT PARTS OT ITSELF as Projectiles after them - reducing it's Healthpoints and spawning normal Undead Units where the "Projectile" landed that is usually made out of Two or Three Corpses.

The Summon could be "modded" with Mods downloadable outside the Game to it screams Profanities and Curses and Slurs AAAANNNND i have WAY TOO MUCH FUN writing this here

please forget my tiny suggestion with the Mods here.

My expectations are:
-that it will be possible to play this profession on the verge of death. For example, if the character is low on health, they will get bonuses to attack,
-that the character will be able to sacrifice their health, or even the health of others in the group, to gain various bonuses,
-that they will be able to gain bonuses by draining the soul from a dying enemy, or a freshly dead enemy.

I expect for them to try and go outside the box with this one. Its quite easy to come up with really cool stuff, like the bard got a pretty cool and uniqe kit because it is very clear what a bard is.

For example:
•An AOE snare becomes a pit of zombie hands dragging and pulling the enemy.
•A heal ability that spawns little gremlings that run to the nearest and most damaged ally and hug them.

Fun stuff like that i do expect.

Like in the other Topic -> spooky Stuff on your Gear, Shields, Back, etc. This Screenshot here is Path of Exile 2 and apparently that "Shield" with a bloody Skeleton on it, is a legendary/unique kind of Item.

Imagine running around with such spooky, bloody Stuff. Of Course it shouldn't be limited to Summoners who play as Necromancers - but it is still a cool Idea.

I expect classic abilities like what was in EQ, including but not limited summon skeleton, life tap, hp to mana conversion, dots, and feign death. Everything else is icing on the cake.
