How can players leave their own mark in Verra?

Since player crafted gear remains the strongest gear attainable in the game. Why not give the players the ability to name their creations? Maybe save the epic tier and down. Naming Legendary gear could give the player gratification and owner ship of their achievement. Only the player who crafted, enchanted & tempered the gear maybe could then approach an agent in a node, pay a tax to the settlement, then after gear becomes named and maybe slight stat bounouses can be added to the gear. This may improve the economy for the absolute rarity and difficulty in creating named gear/tools. Further more. If a player dies while corrupted, a (single) named gear/tool is garenteed to drop or at least has a higher percentage chance to drop among the other gear. A single piece of player named gear will for ever live in the economy and Verra. If the players die to a boss then maybe with a small percent chance the boss may collect the 'shiny' or named gear. And add it to its own loot table temporarily... What are your thoughts about something cool like this?

Gear naming was never on the table. Previous mmos that had tried it found it was a perfect venue for scammers to make copper swords, rename them mithril and try to sell to the unwary as just one example. You will however have the option to add your name to the craft. As in "crafted by grimx3n0."

I see, and I assumed just naming the gear itself would be a hassle, to keep track of every mediocre gear crafted, named and all would be a drag. That's why I proposed a possible system that could limit the amount of named gear in the world. To make it a genuine achievement. I understand this was never on the table, but I got to thinking about all the individual playstyles Alpha 2 currently has. Ranging from adventures, to criminals, mayors to guild leaders and rep, merchants to crafters, gathers and fisherman/woman. I thought something cool to capitalize on this fact, adding an extra 'End Game Insentive' to these many different play styles would maybe help retaining certain players that just enjoy these awsome systems in the play test like the professions. I further understand whole heartedly that this playtest/game in creation is not for everyone. I only thought about how cool it would be to have some truly unique, truly mythic rarity end game gear to craft for the crafters. When that point comes later on. Would it not be cool for these artifacts handcrafted by the player to be named. Considering the allready immense difficulty gathering enough rare resorces allready. These 'mythic/artifact' gear would be truly rare in the world. Hence naming the gear would only ever be possible on the truly difficult to craft items. Just a thought XD what would be the pros and cons to this possible system?
