After Update today get this message after character select

followed suggested course of action- relog and update client, or validate files - makes no difference

What a comedy of errors !!, for one reason or another haven't even been able to log in today at all

do you guys just wing it? or actually test updates prior to release? game worked fine yesterday.

Happy Steam experience from a game designed from the start to have its own independent launcher.

For the testers' sakes I hope they wise up and go back to the independent launcher so people can actually get into the game.

Well, uninstalled Mcafee unwillingly but it works now.. Will need to install it again after my off day though. :D

multiple threads for the same issues, i have seen Dev response that they are actively working on the issue

everyone is pointing the finger at Mcafee, the file causing the problem has a anticheat icon, maybe the issue lies with the anticheat program not Mcafee??

i have tried every work around that im willing to implement to no avail. at this point i wont be playing until they patch this issue, i refuse to waste any more time trying to make it work

Same issue here, even installed the whole thing 3x by now, but still get the same fault code and no start. Satrting to get a bit annoyed about thsi

Update this morning, no change. I'll wait a few days before posting a review. See if they can figure it out.

I have been having the same issue since Saturday (today is Monday).

I can confirm that I also temporarily removed my McAfee virus protectiona and was then able to log into the server without issue. The funning thing is that I was able to get on without any issues before Saturday… So, it is definetly something on the AOC side, since the update that came out just prior to Friday or Saturday.

I am reloading McAfee now. I will check back every day to see when AOC fixes the issue.
