The launcher updated just fine to 0.2.127-31202, and it got me to thinking about the actual game files. Do you need any sort of feedback on how updating our old A1 client to the latest client works? Once we get to spot testing I mean. Would you rather we let the files be, but then choose the repair or reinstall option from the menu once we can log in? Or would you rather we manually delete the files beforehand? And if so, which folders?
There is no testing going on currently. Keep an eye on the news channels for more info about upcoming closed spot tests for a1 backers!
Hopefully it won't be too long. As it is, we have no choice but to get involved in other things and many will never have the interest again in AoC that they once had. They find something that makes them happy and appears to be progressing better then they stick with it. Whatever the numbers, the longer we go with no involvement from players then the more of those players we will lose or significantly decrease their involvement for the future. Lately I keep forgetting the game exists as there are no email notifications of anything in my mailbox and nothing to look forward to on my calendar. Right now, I have no idea if or when I'll ever be able to be involved again in the game as we get zero news. I don't have decades of life ahead of me to wait as I'm too old for that. On Steam, anything not coming out before the end of this year I just mark as ignore because I'm too old to be buying more games unless they are really special somehow. Taking your time is fine, but, even if just a couple days every couple months players need something to look forward to and be able to see there is progress.
totally. 9 months? no testing? gg
Thats well and find for those games, that live very short lives. I said that in alpha1 actually, the game is already as polished as some other games are even in beta preparing for launch in regards to lots of core systems
I'm happy to wait for awhile for them to be ready to set us loose in a2 phase
Especially considering that Alpha 2 is going to be a persistent alpha that stays live until launch. They basically need the core of the game done before they let us get our hands on it.
