Just wondering what sort of pc will run Ashes at a decent experience.
We haven't seen any real battles ( 25 v 25 ) .......etc
Have players in the Alpha experienced any big fight ?

    I can give some Alpha 1 feedback, but that was on UE4, not the current UE5 client.

    We had a siege battle with around 300 players that was pretty damn smooth in terms of the network and such. My system at the time was a 8700K slightly overclocked to 5Ghz and a GTX 1080 Ti running at 4K resolution. My FPS was around 30-60 for the most part, with a few dips into the 20s.

    25 v 25 is nothing in Ashes. It'll handle 10 times that.

    Do we know how much ray tracing is involved? As I believe that's more an Nvidia strength than AMD (although AMD may have caught up a bit lately?).

    You should be completely fine with an RTX 4060 Ti or 4070 Super onwards, or an RTX 3070 if you're on a tight budget. In terms of CPU power I'd really recommend the 5800x3D for gaming.

    seem to be managing 60fps with some custom settings on a 7500F CPU and RX6800 GPU. Resolution scaling down to 1440p and 1080p did not do much for massive fps gains I found.

    Would be safe to say that the CPU is critical when more players are on screen. If you're on a current AM4 rig the 5700x3d from aliexpress is incredibly cheap a decent upgrade and performs within 1% of a 5800x3d.

    The 7500F is a bit cheaper than the 5700x3d and performs roughly the same but will get you onto the newer AM5 socket with a longer upgrade path...(7800x3d/9800x3d)

    the only Intel CPUs I would consider is the low budget 12100f and maybe 12600k. But I have not used intel since my i7 6700k turned into an i3...

    What I will say is that you probably want 32gb of system ram and a GPU with 16gb of vram.

    During testing I was going over 20gb/12gb usage which might improve with more game updates but I'd be inclined to just flat out recommend those system specs as standard.

    I will also add that during alpha 1 (Unreal engine 4)I was using the IGPU on a 5700g AMD apu and the game was surprisingly playable (gtx1050 ish performance)...though not recommended, I just sold all my graphics cards during the peak crytpo mining PC gamer winter.

    If there was RT I would be turning it off. The performance hit is not worth the visual fidelity in a multiplayer pvp game.

    I'd rather have optional HDR.

    Other than Minecraft RT I am yet to see a game where RT is worth turning on. The thing with MMOs is you have to optimize to the more common system specs...

    In which case we're talking 6 core CPU's and RX6600/GTX1660 - RTX3060 like GPU range. none of which will benefit with RT turned on even with upscalers as the system memory will not be enough.
