Game Update Locks System Up

Description
Anytime there is an update and I install it, during installation, my system resources become depleted. My CPU taps out at 100% and it takes a LONG time to install the update, I can't use other applications, I'm essentially stuck unless I kill the process or press the reboot button, and today's update took over an hour to install.

Bug Reproduction Steps
1.)TLDR: Have Chrome open with Twitch running and other background apps that are typical on a system running.

I had three applications open and running at the time this occurred (Quicken, Chrome, and YouTube TV (an extension of Chrome). There were a few processes that run in the background like Steam, Discord, G-Hub, etc. running as well. Twitch was actively running in Chrome and the player ended up crashing on me and I couldn't use Twitch until the update finished.

2.) Launch the Intrepid Studios Launcher.
3.) Install update.

Expected Result:
The expectation is that the update downloads, and is then processes rapidly by the computer.

Actual Result:
The update downloads, and then very slowly processes the download where the "Delta Merge" meter hangs for lengthy periods during the installation and results in a very long installation process. There are no errors associated with this, just an unusable system. This has not happened with any other game I've updated to my recollection.

Bug Reproduction Steps
Provide the sequence of actions which reproduce the issue that you're seeing reliably (i.e. what were you doing when you encountered this issue?), as clearly as possible.

I have a saved Event Viewer historical data for the hour it took during the update if that is needed/wanted.
