Memory leak issues since P3

Been having a massive memory leak issue since P3 started. Every time I play, the game consumes over 20GB of RAM, going close to the max of 32 GB I have installed. And if I do anything that requires more memory - i.e. open my map, character screen, cross a node worker boundary, my game either freezes for a minute, or crashes entirely.
I've tried clean installs of both my graphic drivers and the game, but it keeps happening. Any solutions/suggestions? I'm losing my mind over here.

  • Same here,I’ve tried EVERYTHING that people have suggested. M2 SSD,Lowering graphics, using DLSS,Vsync and cap at 60,windowed mode, full screen, the unlimited shader setting in Nvidia panel, reinstalling drivers for cpu and GPU,nothing works. The game runs super good for me until it doesn’t and the frames just turn into a slide show and stay there until a relog.

    I have the following configuration:
    Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K, 3200 MHz
    64 GB RAM @ 3200 MT/s
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB
    Game running on a SSD 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe

The game starts absolutely fine, FPS > 100 on epic, but it slowly decays down to below 10 FPS (happens after 1-2 hours depending on where I am and what I am doing), where I need to restart the client - rinse repeat. When the game is in that state, lowering the graphics settings to low doesn't change a thing - still less than 10 FPS. Restarting the client -> everything fine again.

Memory wise, the game uses a whopping 40-45GB physical Memory including approx. 5GB of shared memory with the graphics card.

My system is quite strong I would say, much more than it's minimum requirements and even the recommended. I strongly suspect several memory leaks in the game as it is. Especially when in a group levelling, this is extremely annoying cause I need to restart and quite often I return dead, which is very frustrating.

Same here. I tried pretty much the same as you. After some time, the game consumes more than 40GB of my 64 (there is still enough free RAM available), but at that point it becomes unplayable.

You might find this helpful – here’s a solution that another player shared which worked for them:
I FINALLY FIXED my GPU crashes (every 30 to 60 minutes) yesterday. Zero crashes since my fix in over 20 hours of gameplay.

I increased NVIDIA Shader Cache to 100GB,
I deleted the default 4GB NVIDIA shader cache,
I made a NVIDIA Manage 3D Settings profile for ashes and set max FPS to 60 and GPU to max performance,
I repaired Ashes from the Launched,
In game I also capped FPS at 60, set Anti Aliasing to low and ran settings at Medium across the board,

Now, instead of hitting 15+ GB of VRAM utilization and eventually getting the GPU crash, I usually see GPU VRAM comitted at less than 11GB.

i absolutely had an explicit out of VRAM memory error a few times due to Ashes after a patch in early September, so I'm quite confident that something related to shaders and either Ureal Engine, Ashes itself, or the NVIDIA driver changed and causes this crash. Good luck!

I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.

We're constantly working to improve the client as we develop the game.

With that said, you can open a technical support ticket here: https://support.ashesofcreation.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000558614
