Re: How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
I asked who the others (who died green) are to be clear what category of players we talk about. I see players willing to die green in a few cases: 1) when tries to hold a farming spot which would give him something in return on a longer time 2) tries to escape with the full inventory and takes advantage of not being… -
Re: How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
(( I just noticed we have an edit button on other people's posts too which does nothing)) I am not sure if numerical examples help because they add one more step which I have to reverse engineer to understand why your model cannot be balanced and how to change it. Gear should provide both attack and defense. Assumption is… -
How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
First, please read https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Player_corruption. The overall philosophy is summed up by this: There is no incentive to go corrupt... There's zero incentive for a player to go red. It actually gives you negatives for doing that- very significant downsides. – Steven Sharif Based on a post by @NiKr here:… -
Re: How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
I think that is one of the key things: This will vary. Significantly. I am pretty sure that there will be "Server Culture" and "reputations" which are based on the types of player that find themselves on these servers. A server with more solo players would probably be more attractive to the kind of "career PKer" you… -
Re: How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
Don't really see where you got the "useless after first kill" thing. Once you clear your corruption - you can kill again. You'll just get more corruption on the next kill. And you can repeat this as many times as you want/can, because there's no deleveling in the game and your stats will only decrease by 20% while you're… -
Re: How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
In AoC you will not be able to use storage, to free your inventory. Staying red all the time will not be practical. There is gear durability loss. That should be balanced to matter and death to be more "painful" than grinding XP. By more painful I mean the resources required to repair it should come from an amount of… -
Re: How hard do you think it should be to get rid of corruption?
Agreed, the thing however is: I don't think there will be "solo locations". Outside of Points of Interest, I think everything will be suitable for players without a group. And assuming that maybe 20% of the land mass is POIs and maybe 15% will be Nodes, that leaves something like 65% of the land mass for higher solo player…
