Re: Castle Siege Idea
Yeah, I tried looking for videos from sieges where I'd see attackers hitting each other, but there were just too few siege videos (even though I know for sure that there were quite a lot in the past). Search algorithms are fucked and on top of that some videos might've gotten blocked by YT because they used some song that… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
And I presented ways of how this kind of approach can be fairly easily played for the defending alliance's benefit. It would definitely be a step into the right direction, because it puts more pressure on the defending alliance and makes them "do more stuff if they want to keep the castle", but I think that democratic vote… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
Why would exclude them? Travel on the map is relatively fast on mounts. Players can also relocate during weekend to the other continent using family summons. I expect guilds from a metro nation to go and destroy the caravans of any other metro nations every weekend. If the local population is unhappy with their castle… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
Not sure if it'll help but: 1. If being Mayor can lead to power which in some way leads directly to money, then being able to 'buy your way ahead' is a denial type of control. You aren't paying money just to make money, it's to keep other people from making money. 2. If no one can end up as Mayor and then have their own… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
If Ashes Siege content progresses in any of the four ways I consider reasonable (not that I like, that I consider reasonable, I don't like ANY of the reasonable directions very much), then I would then say that I would expect a lead guild. This is not because 'I want there to be less chaos and I only consider Group 2… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
To me not having a "lead" is a group 2 thing though. Because backstabbing and heelturns during the siege is way more interesting than "oh, well, we all agreed that this will be the only guild that's supposed to get the castle way beforehand". To me that kind of design is the "that's stupid" approach. I know that me… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
This would be on players to combat because this would be nearly impossible to prevent, unless we go with Lead guild system where only that guild can take the castle and the suggestion below to minimize the chances that the Lead guild is a defender ally. And was it so hard to simply say this^ instead of this \/? If others… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
No, they would need 1 40 man guild that can clear a boss in order to imbalance the defending side by 16 slots. If they can get 2 such raids together, they can imbalance the attackers by 32 slots. If they can get 3, that is 48 slots. This is something that is quite trivial, and so is reasonable to assume every defending… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
And, as I keep saying, the counter to that is bosses becoming stronger, if the castle has been in the same hands for several sieges in a row. That's the feature that addresses the defending side blocking slots over and over again. You say that I'm looking at the details too much and not seeing the big picture, while you've… -
Re: Castle Siege Idea
Usually it's visible by how people from said guilds treat each other over a long period of time. If the megaguild manages to full everyone out there - cool, they won the social war. During the siege itself it would also be super obvious, because the defenders would simply let one of the attacking groups through and let…
