Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
That is correct. IF you gather 100 stone for 2 days, losing those 100 stones will be felt a lot more than someone who gathers those same 100 stones for 2 hours. Thats how things work. Its not only about being lazy, but efficient also. And idk how you can say that losing 100 stones when you gather them for 2 days is same as… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
Caravan attacks are too tied to Node progression and Node Sieges and Castles Sieges for there to be too much Risk associated with attacking. It can't really be that most attackers belong to the Thieves Guild because the primary motivation to attack a Caravan has less to do with theft and selling stolen commodities and more… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
I see what you mean, but I still disagree. 1 dude harvesting for 10 hours is not the same as 10 dudes harvesting for one hour each. you are only looking at one side. ill try a different way. if you spend 60 minutes getting money to buy goods and I attack you, but I only get 2 minutes of what you bought, and spent 10 mins… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
I don't think people will attack caravans for loot. They will attack probably because they want to PvP. Personally, I'm not gonna waste my time trying to destroy caravans when I can just farm my things and be more profitable in the long run. The high risk for attackers is to not successfully destroy a caravan and they… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
Imagine you have 1 hour to spend in the game between work and sleep and you want to make max profit for this 1 hour, we exclude all other options and leave only those 2 for you to choose: gather or attack caravan to steal goods. In both cases you spend the 1 hour. In the caravan case you may end up with nothing, if you… -

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/plenty 1: an adequate or more than adequate number or amount of something : a number or amount of something that is enough for a particular purpose 2: an abundance especially of material things that permit a satisfactory life : a condition or time of abundance… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
after that original post I made, I went further, instead of basing in just my past experiences, I spoke and discussed this with many players that have more deep knowledge from multiple MMOs they are currently playing that have a Similar caravan/tradepack system, and I now not only believe attackers do not need risk, as I'm… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
Explain it to me - please. First, it is key to understand that in a game with the kind of economy Intrepid wants Ashes to have, economic activity is character progression. Your over all character power is a factor of how much and how quickly you can earn gold. With that in mind, defenders place roughly 100 inventories… -
Re: Debunking misconceptions on the Ashes of Creation Caravan System - Attackers need some risk.
Dont you think there is RISK in the form of: "spent x hours scouting the area to find a caravan to attack"? Take in mind that the map will be enormous. And with 10k players logged at the same time, there will be a lot of land with no players. This also means when you run a caravan you can check the commission board first…
