WOW why do people assume over asking questions? First off. Do you live in Canada? I have been to the USA recently. It's shocking the price difference. TV I bought in Canada was when you include taxes was 40% cheaper in the states. Go look up right now on Canadian sites AM4 gaming parts. Not standard pc parts but gaming quality parts. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is my CPU and norms for about $300 with tax. Used about 180. When I bought my 4070 I paid new just over 1k. My 2060 card I sold used for $350 bucks. That was about 6 or 7 months ago

Between racial augments, religious augments, weapon augments, class augments, and social augments I guarantee some folks will be hawking the class METAs for each of the 64 combos. I’m sure there will be guilds that only raid with the FotM META spec. That’s just going to happen.
However, there are so many permutations I don’t think we’re going to see a homogeneous race/class population. I think there’s a large enough population that just wants to play the combo they want to play.
…but we’ll see.
I'm mainly just concerned with how specific the race benefits will be. Like if a race is just straight up better with heavy armor than any other race.
Same. I’m hoping we’ll get a sense of these augments before A2.

I didn't even know this was a thing. If it were up to me I'd vote no to shadow computers. Those would allow for to much wiggle room for those bots and gold sellers get into to the game. Who would risk the lost of the $49 power tier and $15 subscription? Those very same people using the bots and trying to sell gold. Why would they spend all that money on multiple PC's to run their bots on if they can rent so many more PC's from that service all for the cost of buying a single PC? Sure they may have a written rule against emulation software, but do they really? How often is it monitored? How long does the bot get to run before it's caught? How often is it enforced when caught? Remember, every time they ban someone for using a bot with their systems they are either losing future potential profit themselves or more likely forcing new potential profit when the gold sellers just rent another of their systems. Gold sellers don't really care, sure they lose that $64, but how much did they make before the bot was caught and potentially banned? $500? $1000? $2000? Most likely more?
I know it sucks to be struggling financially, but there are ways. When I was younger I worked 60hrs a week job still had to sell blood for months to buy a new gaming rig. That may not be an option where you are but I'm sure if you look around and are willing there are ways. That being said, if you go ahead and at the very least take that subscription fee and set it aside every month by the time the game goes live you should have a decent amount saved towards buying a new PC already.

Do you want to grow the community? Of course you do, how do you do that? By making the game as accessible as possible and creating a place for people to integrate at their own pace. Not by forcing people to play the game the way you want to play it. That's how you piss people off.

The way you grow the community is by being honest.
This is what we are offering. There are tools to help people integrate into what we are offering. Then let the chips fall where they may.
Stop trying to force everyone to play solo and stop expecting what has always been promoted as an old school MMO that is centered on groups.
You want to play solo and mage tank everything. Great, hope you find what your looking for, but this was stated from the very beginning as not that.

Area of Effect (AoE) abilities are a common staple in MMORPG combat. We’re curious to know what your thoughts are on AoE abilities and the way they’re displayed.
Here is the tip for top 2 that aren't done right:
1. Instant AoE:
a)If doesn't have ongoing effect-quick flash or burst animation followed by loud sound effect (Shattering of glass, explosions, gust of wind)
b) If it has ongoing effect (stays after you cast it)- minimal subtle effect that loop. Silent sound effect.
2. Channeling AOE
I am scared to give a feedback on this one. You guys make everything that needs emphasis saturated with color. That's not good spell design. Your Tank's Wall ability literally looks like stacked up Turkish delight. Its horrible.
Channeling AoE must be most visible out of them all, so you can give a chance to opposing player to interrupt it. Your Blizzard spell is perfect in saturation and effects. Dont you dare change it.
Guild Wars 2 has done them perfectly. Especially with their Elementalist class.
The rest are up to you...
In PvP, which Area of Effect (AoE) abilities, should be telegraphed to enemies?
Burst DmG and stunning ones. Meteor, for example.
How clearly should AoEs be to enemy and friendly players?
I think you should adapt to a game so you can tell it just by looking. Thats where good spell design comes to a play.
Do your thoughts differ in a PvE setting?
Unless it has some wind up mechanics that you can showcase with animation (Which would be preferable), you should make the danger zone visible.
Example: Boar readying to charge at you shouldn't have any notification, but some crazy magic effect cast by a magical being that isn't exactly humanoid should, if that makes sense.
Do you have examples from other games in which AoE abilities are presented in a way you like? If so, please share them!
YES! Guild Wars 2 has a large variety of AOEs with very different cast times and FX. I think its masterfully done.
In Guild Wars 2 has also done AOE danger area notification perfectly. Especially in PVE
Just a simple faded, slightly burning red circles was a simple yet effective solution. Works in PvP too.
Telegraphed boss AoE's notifications are good too.

So.... Your complaint is that solo players are at a disadvantage in a game largely designed and intended to be played in groups... And your solution is to force everyone else to play the way you want to or accept you being some sort of OP solo-man? Somehow single handedly being able to compete with entire teams of other players?
