The cooldowns and mana costs shown so far, along with our current understanding of the Tank's power gap, implies that the best we will get is Neverwinter tier (so generally 3v8).
This is part of why having parties of eight seemed strange to me, but the answer will usually be to lowman the content, not to make the NPC groups bigger.
We haven't yet been shown any party content that actually requires 8 players or would even be particularly 'better' with 8 (considering loot and exp distribution).
For me, 2-3 vs 6 feels good, 3v4 is a good feeling when you get it right. Any more on the enemy side than that and what always seems to happen is that the Devs provide enough tools to have one of two things happen:
1) The Tank has an AoE taunt, at which point those 4-6 enemies can be treated as one group that just hits your Tank faster
2) The Bard/Mage has an AoE sleep, so you're still not really fighting more than 1-2 enemies at a time.
Sure, the coordination is fun, but 'having 6 enemies beat on the tank or 4 enemies sleep through the fight until you get to them' I feel doesn't appeal. That said, I don't like 'power fantasy' gameplay of that type, so I don't really know where Ashes is going with this.

In PvP, which Area of Effect (AoE) abilities, should be telegraphed to enemies?Not all need to be nor should they be. The more powerful ones should be, high damage and CC. This can be in the form of channels/charge ups, projectiles and/or graphics indicating when the ability goes off.
How clearly should AoEs be to enemy and friendly players?Clear and defined areas and VFX is important for PvE and PvP so they can be easily distinguishable by players.

But, I'd say that the OP claiming to know how to design the Augment system better than the Creative Director before the OP has tested the feature is the epitome of patronizing.
And, yep, Steven and the devs have made it very clear that the Ashes take on Classes is unique.
If people take the time to read about Ashes, they should know that the system is non-standard.
And then decide if they want to try it out or not.

What most people want (even if they don't know) is that they want their class to look a specific way. It's largely a cosmetic thing.
This is - to me - the thing that makes the most sense. Some people will want their Paladin to be all about light, order, good, what ever - but some will want the fallen paladin aesthetic. Both desires are equally valid, but both can't exist without requiring the player to make a concious choice.
Since we know a good amount of the games cosmetics will be sold on the store (not all, just a good amount), having spell effects packs there as well only makes sense.

Playing almost no differently than other Tanks is also a paranoid delusion in your own head.
We'll test what the game devs implement during Alpha 2 and then provide meaningful feedback based on actual evidence.

Just sieging doesn't work. At first you literally can't and then it would take you the same amount of time a node takes to level up to its lvl to acquire the required resources for its siege.
And you know what happens during that time? YOU BECOME A VASSAL. Got fokced, boiiii.
Intra-guild relationships are not even close to the restrictions of inter-node relationships.
Maybe I'd commiserate more if citizenship, aka the thing that locks you from declaring a siege on a specific node, was automatic, but since it isn't automatic, you are free to wait out that timer and declare a siege on the stage 3 node. If the node goes from Village to Metro before the lockout ends, then its very obvious people in that region didn't share you node type preferences and wouldn't join the attacking siege anyway.
There is no damage done by being a vassal, and choosing to become a citizen of a vassal node is an active choice you make, not one inflicted on you. You literally HAVE to choose to be part of a vassal node. If that's a deal breaker, why would you ever choose to put yourself in a vassal position when you could go to another area of the world where a Divine metro has formed/is forming?

Expect most people here to tell you that you should not expect Intrepid to add any of your suggestions until we have had a chance to test what the game devs implement during Alpha 2.
"So far into devdelopment..." appears to be your own internal fear that really has nothing to do with the way Intrepid has been working.
