Re: Question to the devs: arenas and server meshing
So basically, you just want a spectator mode for arenas? That could be cool! And maybe throw rotten veggies at the losers—just kidding, or am I?
Re: High quality AoC memes
"If you were dead right ow, you wouldn't be getting harassed"
I am surprised by the reasoning system of some people, it is terrifying.
This sentence immediately makes me think of the poor kids who are bullied at school. If I understand the author of this "thought" correctly, his take is "if you are tired of being bullied, then die..." appalling
Took me a few Moments to actually understand that one. .
This sounds funny. This sounds like some People "attack You a LITTLE BIT" -> but theeeen are to afraid and to pussified to actually go for the kill.
What are they gonna do ? Trying to attack You down to your last Quarter of Health and then try to let some Mobs finish You ?
Big Chance and (funny) Surprise if the Game counts that then STILL as a Kill of them that gets them corrupted if they kill a green Player who doesn't fight back against them.
If even WoW can set things like from the first Hit regarding if Players get flagged or not - > then i see no Reason why Ashes of Creation shouldn't be able to do that as well.
Just include and set in the Game's Coding, that IF a Player attacks another (green) Player - and the Player dies in Battle against a Mob in the same "IN Combat-Mode" as when he was first attacked -> that the Participation/Attack of the other Player gets counted as well - same as the NPC Mob who kills the green Player attacked.
Honestly People can mention that to dear Intrepid even before the Alpha Two has started. - if dear Alpha Two(One?) doesn't even has this included yet.
I don't even want to IMAGINE how pussified, pathetic and toxic at the same Time that would be. Imagine attacking another Player - PESTERING him for in the Case of doubt HOOUURS on End - only to then not go for the kill - and thinking You are being spared from being corrupted - in Case a PvE-Mob finishes the Player that you intentionally weakened.
I saw such Behaviour a tiny bit in WoW over the many Years. People attacking Players from the other Faction on PvP Servers so that the Chance heightens that a PvE-Mob finishes the Enemy Player -> in hopes they would get Repair-Costs.
SUUUPER toxic.

Re: Player enemy visual Health Bar update on hit.
I mean, there are 3 possible options:Sooo, what to do with the healh points bar, hm?
1. Leave it as it is
2. Remove health bars of green players (non-combatants) and leave them for purple/red players
3. Forget about those 1/4 1/6 1/8 segments on a health bar and simply make it accurate
I would support #2, unless a better suggestion appears

Re: Player enemy visual Health Bar update on hit.
Slow down a little, I think you could both do a better job at tying your arguments back to the original point. Takes two to tango.
My point also kinda got swallowed up by that response. I was genuinely asking for clarification on the intention behind the discussion in the last 2-3 pages.

Re: Ranged Mobs: Impossible to Counter if you are in their attack range
To me it makes total sense. Both are entities in the game that are using the game's rules. That's it. Humans are no different from mobs and vice versa. For pvp it might be a different story, but for pve mobs, this makes no sense.

Re: Ranged Mobs: Impossible to Counter if you are in their attack range
I think this is a little silly for 2024 being forced to just embrace their incoming attack, no matter how good your hero movement is.
Movement shouldn't be what you use to avoid an incoming attack - that is what abilities like the tanks "reflect" ability are for.

Re: Will Skins for Packs be able to be used on Battle Pets?
This is where your confusion lies. Cosmetic pets are not skins. They can be summoned from level 1 and do not need to have a base item earned in game before using them. Mount skins (which includes mules and "combat pets") have to be applied to a matching tier of mob in the game that you already own. "Combat pets" as people like to classify them are just tamed animals that you can't ride. They have a heavier focus on combat abilities rather than the other husbandry values like speed and others.
Re: Player enemy visual Health Bar update on hit.
So what was the point of the level-spot scarcity argument in the context of the discussion now?
Whether the devs intended for levelling-spot competition to exist?
Whether players were supposed to aggregate in centralised popular areas of the map? (I think this was was the subject of the simultaneous discussion in the other thread, not particularly relevant for here?)
Was it mostly related to the Indirect-Kill-By-Mob question, or was it about something else?
I've tried looking for it, but the original argument must be hidden somewhere in 3 sentences exchanged 4 pages ago, and never have been directly referred back to in the minutiae since then.
