Re: new player doing tank/cleric duo with friend, good gathering/crafting skills that would mesh well?
Have the Cleric do gathering, more specifically mining. The Tank should probably do the combinations of Processing Stone and metal.
This should allow you to gear up because that duo can go into more dangerous areas safely, it doesn't matter that your kill speed is slow if your goal is to get money/progression by reaching gathering spots.
At low levels you can easily try out many different artisan professions, but those are the ones I suggest pushing the most, and they're pretty fun in nearly any area.
Good luck with the testing.

everything with alts.
you need stuff from different professions to craft soemthing so your gathering profession doesn't matter too much, unless you plan to make alts or have friends who can give you mats or craft for you. eventually, you will only be able to max out 2 professions.
but usually fishing and farming go well with cooking. picking flowers with alchemy, making some armors too. minign goes well with almost anything, scribing, alchemy, making weapons and armor.

- Settlements are back on track. They’ll now level and behave as expected instead of refusing to grow like that one stubborn houseplant.
I really, really dislike having Interact3 forced for my mount on a separate keybind.
Please add the option to put it back to where I can mount and dismount with F again, without sacrificing the other interactions.
Yeah it's just another button, but it just keeps annoying me. It was so nice before. I know, people got too close to nodes or NPCs with their mounts and they sometimes got the wrong interaction (skill issue?). I think it's fine to have the new interact3 option too, of course, if people prefer it like it is now. Maybe it's the same issue for Interact2 and 4 as well, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
The simple solution is to allow us to bind the same key to several or all the Interact options, instead of now where it unbinds F from Interact if I try to use F for Interact3.
Edit: to not sound too grumpy, I think you're doing a great job otherwise for P3

Re: Question about potential life of AoC after sunset/decommission
It seems pretty pre-mature to be asking about EOL for a game that hasn't even gotten into beta yet. They aren't even thinking about that.
Your response seems pretty dismissive and condescending. I’m not suggesting Intrepid SHOULD be thinking about end-of-life now, but I don’t see harm in asking the question. Communities that care about game preservation have raised this kind of concern for many MMO's in the past, and asking early could help signal that it’s important to players. When would be the “right” time to ask? After the game sunsets, when it’s too late? In my opinion, no question is too early if it sparks meaningful discussion and there is no such thing as a bad question...
It is not dismissive. Game is not even launched. Who would know now?
I assumed reps from Intrepid would chime in. This question was meant for them, not the player base. Unless someone in the player base already knows and can fill me in.
And how would they answer? They are focusing in building the game in full crunch time. You expect them to stop, have some meetings about what to do with the game whenit fails. Call in the investors to see how they feel about this

I just started getting this today, didn't have this issue prior to Alpha 3 launch
Full Screen Windowed mode, low graphics settings, Nvidia RTX 2060 with reported 93% VRAM usage in Nvidia X Server Settings
Try the hotfix branch of proton. Worked for me.

Re: Gathering Contests and CCable Greens
Yeah, I'd be fine with that. I'm almost sure all the "pvpers" will flip out over this, cause it's pretty much an instanced fight for pvers, but I do agree that this would provide a less stressful way to compete for mats.Arya_Yeshe wrote: »So:
- Claim and you can claim only one resource at a time

- If others claim the same resource, a duel starts
- If you refuse the duel, the resource gets locked for you
- If you wander too far, it's treated like losing a duel, the resource gets locked for you
- Win a duel and a few seconds are added to your claim timer

Re: My current biggest gripes with the game. Graphics, (not performance) and world
I agree with almost all of this, optimisation wise the game runs like garbage, I don't have the best computer by all means but I do have quite a bit higher than minimum specs and I can't pull over 35 fps on a good day, the other thing is all the server boundaries completely lag me out, as you mentioned this seems to be getting worse week by week not better
These things I can live with for now I guess but the one issue I would like to see worked on is not only optimisation wise but in general the game looks bad and out of scale, while I agree the game looks decent if you put graphics to cinematic, turn off your UI and take a screenshot in the golden hour, but other than that the game looks pretty terrible, the character models if not place holder are absolutely horrible, the weathering system looks absolutely nothing like the live stream, the rain looks worse than the rain in games from 2005, the character models look way to small for the world and look like they don't belong, the world is populated by the same 5 ue 5 assets over and over again.
I can see potential for the long run but right now the game looks worse than something you would see in 2010, there is no love put into the art design of the game, the world is missing the fantasy and mystery feeling of exploration, mob placement really breaks immersion too as the world just sort of feels like a flat earth created on a Minecraft server with way to many mobs scattered around at random locations with no reasons behind why they are there, hopefully this is all placeholder
