Re: Toolmaking as a Profession
Please reconsider the oversimplification of things down to 'Weaponsmithing' and 'Armorsmithing' and spread things out, so that it's more fun and less obvious meta.

I do find the notion of someone that can't deal with a mob training calling someone else this.
It is literally what we used to call people thst couldn't deal with mob trains like these.
So, you're a WoW noob.
This coming from a guy who thinks a mob trainer is a "Stronger Player" and that you should be at the mercy of them. Good logic, you must use it irl

Back to the topic at hand, this is obviously just poor gameplay to go against, Train mobs, bait corruption, die and run back. Repeat. You can make other players go corrupted to lose items on their character and give them blight. (receive a permanent debuff) which makes people even if they die corrupted, res at the emberspring corrupted losing up to 6 items on their character.
While all you have to do it farm 1 hour of mobs at most to get rid of xp dampening at 25 with no permanent damage to your character.
Re: Right now, end game has so much griefing it's almost impossible to enjoy end game pve content
I think Intrepid should step in and define what actually constitutes "griefing" and frame it in their TOS so we can put all of these issues/posts to rest. That way the players can just look at the rules to see if something is actually griefing and if it is, they can submit a report - or if it is not, then we can just ignore/delete the post.
I think it would help prevent quite a bit of drama.

Re: Ok, I Think I'm done.
Its been pvp since the jump.
Maybe it has been since jump. I just don't remember this it was 7 or 8 years ago and I've had a few kids since then.(dont have kids in your late 40's it'll rot your brain} I just remember when I i gave to kickstarter them talking about a return to a more classic mmo experience. Since they kept talking about everquest roots I thought they ment that and not Ultima online (which I also hated)
I check and they're no mention of pvp game in the kickstarter. I back for 125$ too in the kickstarter and i'm not a pvp player ^^
In the current version pvp have to much impact in the game for me too

Re: Ok, I Think I'm done.
Hopefully its just an alpha issue and crafting will get sorted.. the items should be pretty basic to craft..
I spend the weekend trying to make some fish salad things.. and honestly I think it took over 20 different types of resources over different professions just to make a single fish salad..
That was for the only fish food that I could make.. sure there is a basic non fish salad but looking at the costs of the parts you are better off just buying the food from the vendor..
Anyway the starter crafting items should be easy to make so people can get into it and not get totally put off by a process that take half a day to make the most basic of items.

I agree, combat system and overall idea of nodes and caravans is top tier, but this game is so raw and unfinished that I think phase 2 won't change anything. I hope they will manage to fix all stability issues and expand content until phase 3.

Re: Ok, I Think I'm done.
why were you running around with your now created fragments in your inventory? Why are you not keeping your horse next to you when you dismount to gather? How did you get trained on when most of the gathering nodes are no where near the heated chokepoints of hotspot farming locations?
I get it. copper should not be this rare. they should fix this, but you certainly didnt make it easy for yourself either.
I had my fragments with me because I had only started playing on Friday and didn't know where a bank was besides I had just made the shards and was on my way back to town. I was maybe 150 yards out of the north side of the starter area "Lionsomethingorother" on the east side of the road. I had just jumped off my horse to mine something. I wasn't paying close attention and some guy runs up to me and used ranged to aggro 2 or more goblin shammies *BOOM* I get hit with at least 2 poison puddles and died before I could move. I respawn and get back to my body within 35 seconds and I had already been looted.
I re-read the Kickstarter page I donated to, They carefully skirted around actually saying PvP or Player versus player. They said things like**** "If a city is encroaching on your territory, it’s up to you to destroy it. Allies and enemies, friends and foes, these are words determined by you, not by us"****. So yeah, I can see it now but if I had read it more closely then, I wouldn't have supported.
Don't get me wrong. This game looks like it has good bones and will one of the best PvP games We've seen a LOOONG time.
PvP Just isn't for me. I'm a bit of a crafting hoarder and losing my stuff makes me a bit crazy. I also have a mild case of social anxiety so the constant feel of being hunted by people just looking for a way to screw me over for the sheer joy of it stresses me out and is not my idea of a good time.
I have high hopes for this game and really do think it will do amazing.... As Steven has said "This game may not be for you"
Maybe I'll give this game to my son when it releases. He's 12 now he might be 15 or so by then. He likes games where he gets to kill adults and make them cry

Re: Ok, I Think I'm done.
You should write up your experiences and make suggestions for improvement to improve the game (this is the reason for testing) so when it does release, you can take pride in knowing you were partially responsible for some of these improvements.
Umm, that's what the OP was... Feedback on the current state of the game.
Hey, mebbe the devs won't listen to him but all the people in the thread trying to talk the OP down are ignoring the fact that the feedback is based on playing the game. It is patently obvious that the early game crafter experience for metalwork is pretty miserable.
