Re: Drowning while logged off
Can we please turn of drowning while logged off. I lost a heroic Gryphon carcass because the game crashed as I jumped into a river on the way back from hunting. I don't mind as much when I lose materials because of pvp or poor decision making but it is really infuriating to lose it because of the game not working as it should.
I thought you didn't lose materials/items when you drowned? Did they change that?
they fixed that like 2-3 weeks ago

Re: Suggestion: mini game for crafter's
FF14 has the best crafting system - Classes with gear.
That gear allowed different abilities to be used while crafting.
A crafter could focus on making Quality, or Quantity, or just XP.
They could combo chain abilities that guided the chances of the final outcome by a few percentage points. You could ignore the whole thing, or you could try to min max with the right clothes, tools, food, etc.
The better the gear, the more mistakes could be made, or the longer the chains could be.
This is just an example - but if AoC combat can be as fun as it is, then they can design a crafting "mini-game" to be as fun AND rewarding.

Intrepid failed in gathering information from the community because there's no polls here, were there any polls and voting anywhere at all? If there was any then I missed, I never saw anything like that here
Could you point me to a place where I can see the reasons for them being opposed? I totally understand not wanting to a repetitive annoying task. I don't think that's what anyone is asking for here (I'm guessing that'll be the reason they're against it)
Currently everything related to gathering and crafting feels the same. An alchemist is no different from a carpenter. This, to me, is an issue. We do expect this kind of variation in all other aspects of the game. Rangers, for instance, are different from mages; And enemies in the game have different attacks. Why would the professions be any different?

Re: I feel rangers need a little bit of love in the form of range bonus
It does feel like we're missing something as far as class identity goes. We're not the most mobile (bard), we're not the only ones with long range (maybe snipe but that's one ability), we're not the largest damage dealers, and our group buffs are pretty lackluster. A range bonus would go a long way toward solidifying the ranger class.
Re: Ranger Review
Ranger could definitely use something to make them stand out. I agree that the marks and hunts feel particularly week compared to the abilities of other classes, and the damage isn't there to make the loss of utility worth it.
Re: Ranger Review
they need a slight range increase so they have the class identity for having most range.

Re: Corruption
The Corruption mechanic is fine, once the issues with PvP flagging are fixed there is nothing wrong with losing gear from it. if you want to kill non-combatants you gain the risk of losing gear, so don't do it in gear that you're not willing to lose. If you don't want to lose your really nice gear then don't do things that will cause you to flag for corruption, it's as simple as that.

Re: Is taking too long to develop going to kill Ashes?
Somehow they need to decide, carebear or risk vs reward. Stevens says risk vs reward, but the state of the game atm, is carebear, with only caravans somehow risk vs reward in a f up way.
If AA2 is better and faster to release, aoc need to be something else, like going full carebear.
I want risk of rain
Then go outside, look up, when you see dark clouds, open your mouth and hope for the best.(if someone try to spit you in the mouth, close it fast, its not rain)

Corruption
There should never be a reason you lose your gear. Never!
Losing equipment for killing another player makes absolutely no sense.
This is a long term progression game and to lose items in seconds is insanity.
Fix it.

Re: visual update? Really?
Yeah, I chose tank because I wanted to be a shield for my guild, but as things are with survivability, exp debt, etcetera, it's not really viable at the moment.
