The First Nodes
I believe I saw this posted somewhere else(maybe on discord), so I apologize if this has been asked before
When it comes to the first players in the game, which I'm sure a lot of you here will be a part of, what do you suggest our first actions should be in relation to the node system?
Do we all upgrade a node close to our starting portals?
Maybe we make 2 big nodes and make them shared space for portals closer to each other?
Do we rush our way to the center of the map, leaving small nodes in our wake, to make a central hub on the server?
I know we don't know what the map looks like yet so we can speak hypothetically here

Aside from being FAR too early to discuss (who will remember this thread in 1.5 years time?!?), it's worth mentioning -- just so it sinks in through the whole community -- those nodes will be switched off for the first players in the game, ie: early access.

Basing my thoughts on some other games in general, most likely what will happen is the first nodes to get really large quickly will be the starting nodes. It may not be intentional, but everyone new to the game entering from their race portals or whatever will start to do things in that area to learn how to play, thus gaining XP to that starting node. If there is enough people joining in, then it's natural to say most likely those first nodes will be the first ones to level.
But that's just my guess
I am aware that they're doing that for the headstart servers, and wasn't exactly referring to it lol. Good info tho

This is the way I see things generally playing out as well. I just was curious if ppl had ideas on how that can be switched, and if we would want to intentionally make it so
