Weekly Roundtable Discussion

Hello Everyone.

I have been thinking about trying to start a weekly round table discord or forum chat focused on some specific curated questions to send on to the dev team. I am completely aware that the devs are not going to have the time to filter through everything we have to say, so I think we should help them out by having a focus group for getting good questions prepared. I have not been able to find anything like this so far looking around so if it exists please point me in the right direction.

The purpose of the discussion would be to create a moderator driven Q/A curation system to get the hottest topics or the most important questions sent in to Intrepid especially over the course of the next few weeks with the Kickstarter in full swing. Currently for todays Q/A we used the reddit thread started by Yavyav which could show mixed success as a repeat thread but might not draw as much attention as a curated discussion thread especially if it is driven by the mod team : )

The benefits of this would be to help the devs to not have to sort through the many repeat questions that have been answered already. There is plenty of documentation about the game available and many good compiles of discord answers Steven has given but many people do not know about that resource. The discussion could be a place for us to come together as a community to present our questions, enthusiasm, and showcase other player created topics about the game. Ultimately the discussion would focus on helping create a environment that new and old players can come to and have their questions answered, their concerns answered, and their creations showcased.

I would love to hear everyone's ideas about this and if this is something people are interested in.

  • It can definitely filter out the questions that already have answers. There have been a lot of very specific questions about game that I feel are very premature. We need to know core mechanics before we even scratch the surface to abilities of a specific class combination.
  • I understand there are a lot of concerns about class mechanics and stuff. Which is why I think the discussion would be very valuable because it would help boil down the question to something the devs can answer plainly versus an explicit answer to one type of combination.

It makes more sense for them to do these weekly Q/A sessions and have more time to prepare the answer if we are able to give them something, lets say the top 10 questions, for example to work on a day or two before.

That way they have time to possibly prepare any artwork, animations, simple diagrams etc to present with the answer to help assuage any fears.

    My thoughts at least
