World Map
Is anyone else as extremely curious as I am about what the world map will look like :D.
Even a teaser would scratch the itch.

The same could work for a map - What we see could be drawn on our maps on a generic way ( simple ^^^^^ for "mountains in this general area") and as we explore the details on the map are drawn in (individual mountain passes that we traverse, etc).
This would also put a risk/reward system into place for exploring - With a large land mass and a simple survival mechanic for our mounts and caravans any exploration across a desert would necessitate planning and forethought. We would need to open up a caravan route through the desert by finding the fastest way to each connecting oasis.
Should sea lanes for caravans be included then the safest route in the summertime might not be the safest during the winter. Same goes for land routes.
Give me a blank page to fill in as I explore.

I agree entirely. It should be a blank outline of the world with bare minimum details. It makes things more unique and inspiring to find new parts

Precisely. Outside of your node you should have 0 info except previously known info.

This is actually a very nice idea. I second it
One idea might be that we get dropped into the world from the portal(s) and we have a very rough map of what the area used to look like with perhaps major points of interest from olden days. We can start walking over to see if those areas are still somewhat usable (like there used to be a great library with all kinds of magical knowledge in such and such city on the south coast). But we have no idea of what the land between looks like. Maybe there is a huge canyon or impassible river now blocking our path. Or even if that library has any knowledge left in it...
Could be some kind of incentive for the early players to get out there and explore perhaps.
