Spit balling System Requirements

I know it's a long way out, but we know it's an MMO and we know it's using Unreal Engine 4.

Anyone want to take a crack at system requirements?

Anyone want to hypothesize if a Core I7 2600k will be sufficient, given it will be at least 8 years old when the game launches.

Comments

  • Assuming high settings 1080p at 30-60fps
2600k should be fine 4 cores probably minimum.
    8gb RAM recommended 16gb preferable
Current mid range or last gen high range GPU AMD R9 290/390 RX570/580. Nvidia GTX970-1060

Intels CPUs have barely improved IPC gains since Sandybridge.
But if AoC likes using multiple threads than the AMD R5 1600 is probably the best bang for buck 6c/12t cpu as of this moment.

How thier custom back end coding will manage multiple player resources is yet to be seen.

But all MMOs will strain when there is a highly populated area.

I would be interested in knowing if the plan to utilize VULCAN as i believe Unreal 4 supports it.
  • <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/forums/topic/faqs-about-ashes-of-creation/">Here</a> they litterally say:

"Q: The graphics look amazing! What engine are you using? How will I ever afford a computer that can play it?
A: We are using the Unreal 4 engine for development. Most of the artwork of the game is optimized to play on mid-range hardware made within the last six years. Additionally, we are exposing many optional settings which will improve performance on lower-than-minimum-specification hardware. "

So let's hope minimum requirement are not to high :-)
Otherwise, time to upgrade my potato-pc.
