Rested XP Mechanism

Hello everyone, I just have a quick question I hope someone can anwser for me.

Will AoC have some sort of "Rested XP" mechanism like SWTOR and other similar MMORPGs or not?

  • Haven't seen any confirmation on this mechanic so far but from what they've teased regarding how housing works and various crafting systems like cooking, I wouldnt be at all surprised to see this mechanic take some form in ashes.
  • This mechanic has to be put into the game, only seems fair to help those who can't play 24/7. Especially at launch sense around that time is when the world is going to have the biggest changes. Now the addition xp doesn't have to be that great mind you but a little goes a long way.

    Ture, XP is important. But given that AoC is taking a Sandbox approach. XP may not be something as important. Fighting someone who is higher level than you (ergo; has more xp) may not mean you'll be at a great disadvantage.

    So overall, I like rested XP. It would be great if one day I want to take a break from battle. Hang my armor on the wall and lay my sword under it. Grab my hammer and work away on the black anvil still getting rested XP for my fighting days but being able to just chill. Its great. But at this point I would say to a dev "don't worry about, You have far more important things to flesh out before my character resting"
  • This is actually a good mechanic. I remember a few years back, I played a game called Talisman online and they have this mechanic in there. I bet this will take a lot of calculations to balance the amount of rested exp you can get per the time you're offline.
