people who want their Mac to game partition it to windows, because let's be honest, mac's meant for work, and it doesn't even do that properly at times(for me at least)
  • A question I see in just about every forum of every game ever made for the past 20 years. I can never understand why people buy a platform that's notoriously not for gaming, then ask if every game under the sun will be for that OS. It's kind of weird.

At times, you are not given an option. For example, My dad confiscated my windows Laptop and gave me a Mac for college saying it's better for work(what a joke), and I won't 'waste' time with gaming. what a joke.

I'm guessing your dad didn't realise you could install Windows on a macbook haha

Which is another interesting topic... I've lost track of how many people I've recommended have a boot into Windows on the Mac if they really, really need to game on it and they're all, "Ewww, no..." So I've just given up frankly. People, buy a PC. All problems solved ;)
  • Why should there be an osx version? Mac isn't for gaming.

i play a lot of games on my mac. if they were not for gaming, why did they put a geforce video card and a shitload of ram in it :) yes, i use the Mac for work, because its better than those HP laptops they gave us instead of a Mac. when i travel, i rather not carry 2 laptops and the "gaming" one is a beast of a laptop.

I don;'t think you get to answer this at all :)

OS X support would be great... I have a PC for only a very few select games, and I'd love to extract that noisy machine with a piece of garbage OS out of my life forever. I still have hopes for SteamOS.

This isn't a Mac thing - this is a Windows is absolute garbage thing.

With that said, OP if you are looking to back based on the answer, I wouldn't count on OS X support as part of the initial release for sure, and possibly never unless they give an official statement.

No, booting into Windows doesn't equal playing on the Mac.

The Mac is not just superiorly engineered hardware, but *extremely* superior software and user experience.

i am not much a fan of the "user experience" at all. half of the software i have to use i have to have virtualized just to do my job. But i would rather just play on my Mac and not waste space on a windows partition and still be able to use all of my work stuff at the same time.

its a nice to have, but not needed.

well, yeah. Mac can be used for gaming, but you'll need to modify it.

Excuse me, what part of superior software means hanging every time I try to boot up or shut down? what part is superior is not being able to connect to the wifi router right next to you?
and don't tell me it's an external flaw, because I'm using windows right now and it's working flawlessly.
perhaps it comes from the fact you can integrate it with other apple products or something like that, but I don't have any other apple products so it's all just a giant hassle. oh, and not to mention the auto correct. It'll correct me only a dozen times on the same word before I finally make it clear I intend for it to be that way. best part? you have to do that every time you type the word.
honestly, for the price of the Mac, you can get a windows laptop with good gaming specs as well as a mouse and headphones.
only things I'd say I like about the mac are the very long charging cable and the key lighting.

looks like you got a low quality windows PC. there are many different types of windows PCs, some companies suck at it.
Honestly, compare your highest end Macbook Pro to Something like Toshiba Porgete. $500 cheaper and better at pretty much everything. or Alienware if you want gaming. No contest.

That ram and graphic is for other stuff, productivity. Macs main audiance is the creative and casual pc users. Pcs main audiance are the powerusers and gamers. The "gamer market on mac" isn't big enough to justify the amount of work needed to port the game over to mac. Also, the hardware might be good enough to run some smaller games, but not even the most expensive macbook pro could handle a high end game on 4k. If you really wish to be a diehard gamer on mac then sure, go for it. Angrybirds is a great game.

I give Macs for being very well amde in terms of how the hardware and the software work together. They do provide a very smooth experience that can only be obtained on windows with high end gear and lots of tweaking of the os. A Mac can get the same, fi not better experience on much worse hardware. But then again, you will end up paying the same anyways doe to macs insane prices. 1000 euro for the name? no thank you.
On a mac you also need to deal with being very restricted in what you can do and having low software support. Mac doesnt even come near windows on those parts.

So you have to question yourself what you as a user prefer. If you don't mind using your pc on a leash just to get a slightly smoother experience, then go for your mac. Personally i'd take a few hickups here and there rather then being slowly chocked ot death on the apple leash.
  • I think OSX holding the a crushing 3.21% of the OS market. Most developers feel that its a waste of money
