Text to Speech Engine

Technology has improved enough I think to start considering as part of MMORPG development a viable Text-to-Speech Engine. The time and cost of voice actors and the amount of recorded dialog that needs to be stored and streamed can be prohibitive.
If time permits, having a proprietary T2S can allow a developer to augment dialog to include a player's character name read and voiced by the engine allowing a greater immersion into the narratives of stories, quests and lore. Of course only the player will hear this on the client side but still an exciting tool that uniquely pulls the player's character into the tapestry of the world.
The introduction of a "Dialog Artist" and Director who are dedicated to drafting the stylized texted dialog so the engine renders it as if spoken by an actual living being will be able to deliver a massive amount of dialog that would be stored in a mere fraction of the space required by recorded voice and if streamed it could probably be delivered whole without the complex decompression drivers that slow things down.

I think one built In would be cool, however I've normally found that they can mess up names pretty bad, so if they do make one It would be good to be able to have a way to log the phonetic pronunciation of what we name our characters
