About multiple GPU's and multiple CPU cores

Hello, I'm unable to find a thread regarding the topic of running the game with SLI or Crossover. Basically, what I'm wondering is: how well will the game utilize multiple GPU setups? From what I've read, many, if not most, games today don't utilize multiple GPU setups to it's potential, or don't utilize them at all. Also, many games, don't utilize CPUs with multiple cores to it's maximum potential. I know nothing of video game coding, how it's done, or exactly why the status quo regarding CPU cores and SLI/Crossover is the way it is-- all I know is what I've read.

So, as a question and suggestion, will AoC be able to utilize multiple GPU setups and multiple cores in any given CPU to its potential? Or at least use them at all? With the scope of this game, including the amount of support from the community (we hit 750,000 in, what was it, 12 days?), I'd really really hope that this game will be truly groundbreaking. I am still in the search of an MMORPG world I can call my virtual "home" (meaning, the perfect MMORPG that lets me stop playing others), and I believe for this game to reach the point of truly breaking ground, game optimization NEEDS to be part of the equation. That is all. Thank you for reading and/or any insight you may provide. Have a nice day.

  • We hit $750k in less than 12 hours.
  • Hours, not days! Tons of community support!!! Breakground, Intrepid!!! We're rooting for 'ya!
  • It's a very valid question and I've taken the liberty of asking it for you in the community Discord. We'll see if we get an answer about it.
  • Ashes uses UE4, so a fast answer to your question would be to see what multi gpu and cpu support UE4 has. Unless they have made significant changes to the engine it should have the same basic support the engine does.
