Are homes destroyed if a node de-levels?

Hey everyone, quick question regarding homes/apartments.

If a node is destroyed (Thus de-leveled, let's say below level 3), will our homes and apartments be lost? And if so, do we retain anything from what was lost or is all that progress towards your home completely gone, forcing you to restart from scratch once you can find another place to place a home?

• I'd assume so, although that would no doubt make you even more determined to thwart the attackers of that node with everything you can throw at them. Whether we retain anything afterwards, it may be the case that there's a chance of, literally, salvaging the wreckage.

Then there's the freeholds to think about too. If the node loses influence what happens to those?
• Housing can be lost, but you will retain the items contained in the house on your account.

"Player housing is only attackable if the node owner loses in a siege, and then only if the housing is within that zone of influence. Items inside of the housing will be retained on the account of the original housing owner."

• Houses will delevel or be completely lost when a node delevels or gets destroyed. This will be a driving factor in people wanting to defend their city as well as for people to attack a city. Steven has mentioned that the housing and farming land will be limited and start at node level 3 however; there will be instanced housing in the form of apartments that will allow everyone to acquire some form of, well, housing.
So, say a level 5 node gets downgraded to a level 3 node, all the housing perks that are given from level 4 and 5 would be lost. The players work to relevel the node to level 4, this will allow people the opportunity to reclaim the once lost perks. So even though some types of housing will be limited they will not be permanent.
• I guess the next question is what happens to the actual house?
• I too am curious, especially if I have bit of land by some road somewhere and during my absence / sleep the nodes delevels. Would my land / house / items be safe?
• Here's what's in the Discord FAQ about player housing being destroyed via sieges. As mentioned a couple posts above mine, also in the same FAQ, you don't lose your actual items that you've put in your home.
40:20 Can openworld houses be raided, if yes will owner get any compensation? What about cash shop furniture skins, if there will be any.

Steven:
There will be cash shop furniture skins, yes.
Currently, in order to built an open world home you must do so in a zone of influence that falls
under the purview of a node that has advanced to stage 3 village. So at the stage 3 village that is
when players can build open world housing and it must be built under purview of that village.

Currently, open world housing can not be randomly raided and destroyed and they won't ever be randomly attacked or destroyed.

However through our siegeing mechanic where players can siege towns or nodes of village stage or higher which is a very difficult task, don't get me wrong it's not something that can happen overnight.

Someone says"oh i siege this places" they go and siege that place and it's gone when you wake up. Not, that is not going to be the case.
There will be a declaration period of days prior to an attack, citizens will defend and the defenders will have a strategic advantage. And the necessary resources and time associated for an attacker to actually siege a node should be comparable to that to what it takes to develop a node.
Should they be able to do so, then at that point player housing in that nodes zone of influence that was built will be destroyable for a period of time at which point then it will revert back to safety. So should they succeed they will have the ability to do that.
Reminder: Those are all design points we have now, but when we move in to testing and alpha phases, these things will be fleshed out to see how changes might occur to some of these systems.
If you go to sleep just before a siege you'll have to live with the outcome. You will have ample warning before a siege happens so you can prepare to defend your home.

Ah I see. Thank you! ^_^
• As nodes grow.....new housing groups are added at each stage.
These additional housing groups will cease to exists at each stage of unlevelling.
Those houses from stage 3 will be the last to be lost.
Auto-upgraded houses also auto-degrade.

Freeholds also rely on nodes radius of inluence reaching their distance form the center.
So if unlevelling means you freehold is now outside the radius.
You will lose that too.

All of your possession are however stored.
