What does creating a Campaign Name do in the Referral program?

What does entering a name there specifically do?

Can groups of backers tie their pledges and referrals into a single campaign or does this just add more text to the referral link or what?

    Its basicly just a way for you to see where the referals come from, lets say you have a link in your skype, facebook and email (or whatever). Then you make a name for each of them so you can see how many come from that, like my very unimpressive record :/

    I made a post on 9gag a while ago, so I made a campaign for that, "none-set" means without a campaign.
