Running aoc on a mac.

So according to you faq on your Kickstarter, this game will only run on windows PC. Unfortunately, I have a mac and don't want to spend 80$ on the parallels software to run a game which I might not even play for very long. I'm asking.... any plans to let this game run on a mac and if not is there any other way that costs less than 80$ to play this game. Was really starting to get excited about this and am sad to have my hopes crushed now :(. Any information given is great thanks for everything.

  • So I mentioned that software @xXBeloXx and it costs 80$ which is not something I'm willing to pay...
  • I'm pretty sure it's windows only...why don't you just start setting aside a little bit of money here and there 80$ isn't much and the game won't be coming out for another 2 years or so.
  • or another suggestion is to install windows on your mac via bootcamp assistant? and dual boot into Windows when you want to run Ashes of Creation.
  • You will have to Bootcamp AoC. No way they will have the money and resources to port AoC to Mac.

As far as I can tell, there are no plans to port to the Mac. It only has a small marketshare (about 4% I believe), which doesn't represent a huge potential userbase when Windows, in various flavours, is over 70% by comparison. It'd be very much a business decision.

Why not just use Boot Camp?
  • Think I will just use boot camp thank you all SO much for all these good ideas. Seriously you're awesome! Also...
    Let's MAKE THIS GAME!
  • $80? wtf is wrong with you? my mac is running windows 10 with no issues at all. and I did it for free.
just get a windows ISO file, preferably from a microsoft store or something, attach a 8GB or more USB and run bootcamp assistant. It'll do the job for you.
