Will in game Gods influence your character
The Devs have talked about how the Gods can influence Node progression, so would that mean that some aspects of your character may be influenced based on what Religion is chosen in game. Like if youre a cleric and you pick a God of the Underworld you damage people with infernal damage?

I hope they go with Gods for different aspects of people and the world instead of just like elements

Elemental Gods like Earth,Water,Air,Fire,Light,Dark

lol I'm learning new stuff about this game, day after day! And, it's all exciting!
To your question, KingInWinter, it would be cool if the gods had portfolios that included aspects of life, as well as varying elemental affinity. But, if I had to choose, than I would go with aspects of life, first.
And I hope they will have some connection to Divine nodes.

Please share a few examples of "aspects of life"?
Life != Nature?

Just as a reference, thinking something along the lines of DnD style? Aspects of life can be broken down areas such as......
Harvesting/Agriculture/Farming
War/Warriors/Conflict (big or small)
Intrigue/Rogues/Stealth
Healing/Light/Devoutness/Health (health is a broad term, i know, lol. but, good is implied)
Just some examples, off the top. I'm sure you and others could think of more ideas, and more creatively.

Is L O V E an element? jk But I am hoping they do something exciting instead of the just the basic elemental gods. Im hoping they go more towards the way Greek and Roman gods are...then we could have God of the Forrest or Goddess of Inuition or something! They could even add elements on top of those to get some crazy hybrid...Hades, frozen god of the underworld? #ENDramble!
that aside, what are the gods present in the game?
I wonder what would happen if you became a cleric of War and Conquest, if there was a god that represented those 2 things that is.

Well I love Greek mythology so I would hope for something like that. I tend to agree with @DarkenDage about the elements being too basic. Everyone does the elements, tv shows back to Captain Planet, current MMOs with GW2 elementalist attunements...do something different. @freespiryt's approach is nice. A god for harvesting, one for crafters, one for war, one for healing, etc. Serve them or not is your choice.
Like a God of Protection, Nurturing, and Healing would represent Earth
and Passion, Love, Conquest, and Fury would represent Fire

Was this meant as a joke? Well, I fell for it...
cleric = belief in and reliance upon a higher power/god versus atheist = there is no higher power/god.
A cleric by definition would never be an atheist. It is a contradiction. Would a developer really devote resources to allow a cleric to be chosen that does not believe in a higher power (which should be the source of the cleric's abilities) which means the player of this cleric is specifically choosing to have no abilities...
Or are you suggesting such a cleric has the most powerful ability of all from D&D:
"I disbelieve!" in which the mightiest of game bosses crumbles as this atheist cleric shatters the world immersion by verbal deconstruction... <this is intended sarcasm...>
