Hello, this post is what I am looking for out of the caravan system. What this post is aiming for is the details, how things are to be balanced, how to avoid exploiting the system and other general caravan thoughts.
I will be breaking this post up into sections:
A. What we know.
B. What I think would improve it.
C. Problems I see.
A. What we know.

These are both sources that are used widely from the ashes community, so for people who haven't seen these I will try to summarize.
First off caravans are used to move resources and equipment from node to node, or town to town, in a larger quantity than a player himself/herself can move. The start time of a caravan is to be initiated by a player to move x amount of resources, which is capped by the game. These resources can be all from one player or a group of players.
The routes in which a caravan can take are diverse and with the large world might be different every time even if the caravan is taking the same route as the last. The reasons in which the route might change from things such as PVE disturbances: Seasons, Quest-lines, Events, Development of nodes.
The caravan includes a static circle of PVP around it that prompts people when entering if they would like to attack, defend, or be neutral to the event. All without corruption cost to the players. The caravan is given NPC defenders as a base defense, the amount of NPCs is changed by a number of factors regarding the node it is coming from. These can help with many of the PVE disturbances and to a point the PVP disturbances. While players defending are meant to help with the PVE disruptions they are more directed at PVP troubles along the way whether that be a guild or just random people thinking they can steal the resources from the caravan. Defenders must sign up before a caravan leaves or after the halfway point of the caravan's journey, once you have volunteered you can not attack the caravan or its owners until after it has reached its destination. Helping it get to its destination will reap rewards for the people who started the caravan and the people who have put resources in it. Now the other side of this, the attackers, are trying to kill the owners, NPCs, and defenders of the caravan to make it into a wreckage. This wreckage can then be looted by the attackers, and only the attackers of the caravan.
