In-game mail/courier delivery: How will it function?

Will there be an in-game mail system? Will it also be restricted to the lack of fast travel mechanics and be delivered by NPC courier/post?

To add on to that, how will market purchases be delivered? Is there an auction house? How does this play into the economic node benefit?

Are these going to be things players have control over?

  • I would be ok with something like a specific pickup location in each market that a player can go to as sort of a (mailbox) but It only works within a small boundary. I am curious to see how the different shops and stalls will work for markets in this fashion. Will we be buying a piece of armor from one vendor and make 1 transaction?

  • If they implemented an animation effect for when you received mail, I'd like something along the lines of a falcon or other aviary swooping down and landing on your character's arm. I imagine they may have it as a piece of the UI, though. Click "/" for mail, or something similar.

    As for markets, from what has been mentioned already it seems like stalls can be placed by players on freeholds, within city marketplaces, and the obvious player-to-player trading will be the main options. Players will control approximately 90% of the economy through crafting and etc., leaving 10% for effects from decay and gold sinks. Those are extremely rough estimates, though, so don't hold me to that.
