[EU] The Knights Templar [New guild concept]

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you a new guild concept inspired by the Knights Templar historical organisation in the Medieval Age. Please take a few minutes of your time to read about it in the following.

As you might know, the Templars organisation was a military order both wealthy and powerful that controlled all military operations and trade routes from Europe to the Levant. This guild is going to be a brotherhood that shares some similar objectives.

First of all, I'd like to talk about the organisation's hierarchy. The members will have a common title that is a Knight Templar. But there is going to be a small hierarchy like the following:
- Master: the leader title of the guild. I will be taking this title as of ensuring some administration roles such as recruiting etc.
- Seneschal: a title that is similar to Vice President. He will be in charge of similar duties as the Master. I will pick a Seneschal among the members on responsibility criterias.
- Marshal: he will be our military commander especially when it comes to sieges. The Marshal will be elected by the members. The main criterias are to be a pro PvPer and capable of taking responsibility and leadership of the troupes.
That said, all the members will be Knight Templars. Though, we will have a special title called "squire" for those who will freshly join us in the game. A squire will be affiliated to a Knight or a squad in order to intergrate him into the guild by mentoring him. Squires will have to accomplish some tasks in order to get promoted to a Knight Templar rank. For instance, they will have to run a dungeon with some guild members, etc. These formalities will be later on determined by the members. Once your mentoring Knight or squad says that you are ready to join, you shall become one of us!

Moreover, some guild members will have a role called a "Commander". A commander is a squad leader. Let me explain this for you:
Our guild will be formed by groups. We don't know how many party members will be in the game (max members) yet. But each group will have a squad leader in terms of responsibility (manage the team etc). This does not have anything to do with your title. For instance, I could be Master of the guild but not be a squad leader of my team.
Guild members are free to make their own teams (everyone will get to know each other on Discord and know who they will want to play with). A squad will need at least a tank and a healer. The others can pick what ever they want. The squad system is made to encourage members to play in group. You will run dungeons together, go pvp hunting and even fight in sieges together.
You can change your squad freely as long as you inform your squad, squad leader and the Master and Seneschal. We just want to get things in order.

Now we will talk about our activities. The Knights Templar will be present in all domains:
-PvE: we will help each other for quests, the dungeons will in preference be done by guild members only (no strangers) as long as the squad members are present or you can invite someone from another squad. This is only to keep the loot for the guild members without having any problems sharing it. Other PvE events can be arranged as well (monster appearences etc).

-PvP: our purpose is to PvP. No matter what you like in the game, PvP has to be one of it. The Templars will definitely participate in events such as sieges. We would like that all guild members will be present in siege assaults or defences. It is a Templar tradition and we shall carry it. There will also be group pvp for fun (or solo), bounty hunting etc.

-Masteries: Our goal here is to reach self-sufficiency when it comes to equipment and ressources. We would like to have all the masteries present in the guild, from fisherman to shield maker.

-Trade: like our ancestors did, we will control as many trade routes as possible (including naval ones). Our guild will have an inside market thanks to the full masteries occupied for sustainable development (collectors selling to crafters, crafters selling to those in need of something etc). It doesn't have to be price lowered than the market, but just preference for guild members than outsiders. And finally, those of you who wish can act as trade mercenaries to secure caravans.

OUR VALUES:
- OUR BROTHERHOOD SHALL BE FEARED BY OUR ENEMIES AND RESPECTED BY OUR ALLIES.
- NO SIEGE WILL BE HELD WHERE THE TEMPLARS ARE NOT CALLED TO JOIN. WE WILL LEAD THE ASSAULT!
- WE DON'T PK PLAYERS, WE PROTECT THEM. ONLY DECENT PvP.
- WE ARE JUSTICE. WE HUNT THE CORRUPT.

Conditions to join:
-Regularly active players and english speaking.
-Mature and friendly people that can animate the chat.
-No spoiled children.
-EU player.
-Excited to raid the server!

We have two years until Ashes of Creation comes to life. I think it will be enough time for us to get to know each other very well. We will agree on most decisions together regarding our organisation. We will be a true brotherhood, the best organisation on the next best MMORPG!

  • Ran a guild across two games based on the Templars. To bad you are EU.
  • So, Templar will be a class ingame and Templars have a real life history of being.. Humans, obviously. So, are you human-race bound?
    Clerics may play a part in such a theme, that's not much of a longshot ( besides, you kind of need healers.. ) 
    Do you maintain this race and class-lock (knights, templars and clerics)?
    I suppose clerics as primary or secondary class still opens up the number of classes you could have, and I like the concept of such a gimmick.
    Do you plan on actually doing something like this? and if so, how do you balance ingame class variation in your guild?
